The inn is right in the center of Carmel, very conveniently located. The room is pleasant enough. However, it is way too expensive compared to what you get and to what´s available. Last but not least, do not stay in room 1, there is no wifi signal there.

From the moment we arrived, this lovely hotel and its sister hotel, Casa de Carmel, (directly across the street) were totally welcoming. We stayed using their "No kidding November" promo and had a week night room for $99. The room was lovely, comfy bed, clean bathroom, very nice amenites including free wifi, bottled water, fruit, cookies, and a sweet breakfast delivered... More

We are northern California natives who have been coming to Carmel for years. On my birthday weekend our plans to stay at a friend's place in Big Sur didn't materialize and we decided last minute to look for a room in Carmel. We were referred by another innkeeper to the Monte Verde and told they had the only available room... More

The Monte Verde Inn was everything I had hoped for, and more. When we pulled up, the outside appearance (architecture) was a bit disappointing, compared to the photos of the rooms and courtyard I had viewed. Don't let this put you off, it is a beautiful, clean, charming place. Our room was on the second level, and had a shared... More

We stayed there for 6 nights while exploring the Highway 1 - and found a nice place! The rooms are clean and nice (a little bit small, but still OK), the location is perfect (1 min to stores and restaurants, 5 min to the beach). A breakfast basket each morning, which is OK for 1 or 2 nights - if... More

We stayed one night at this beautiful Inn and we want to go back in the near future. Karen was just a perfect host! She took us last minute, received us with a big smile, gave us tips for Carmel. The room was beautifully decorated and soooo clean! This is a must go to Inn - do not miss the... More

In Carmel for a wedding, I stayed at the Monte Verde Inn with some others in the wedding party. There are good things about this inn, and some not-so-good. First, the good: Nice breakfast, brought to the room promptly at 8:30 AM each morning; an excellent location, less than a block from Carmel's charming Ocean Avenue; and lots of cable... More

I can completely agree with all of the bed reviews of this hotel. We were looking on booking.com and wanted to know further details about the hotel. The woman on the phone was very rude to my husband, despite this we decided to visit in person to see if the accomodation would be suitable enough. The lady on reception was... More

We were on a world honeymoon staying in high end hotels , mid range and bed and breakfasts . I know that this isn't a 5 star high end hotel but compared to some other bed and breakfasts this one just didn't compare . We stayed in room 8 it was small which we expected and the room although cozy... More

I rely on Trip Advisor for information regarding the best places to stay, dine, etc. Unfortunately the Monte Verde Inn doesn't meet the standards I expected for Carmel. The location is wonderful, among the best in Carmel. Unfortunately I have to rate the rest of the amenities as less than acceptable. Rooms are tiny, really tight quarters. There is no... More
