i do not understand what people were complaining about regarding this inn. it was LOVELY. fireplace in the room to cozy us up on the chilly evenings. very comfortable room. breakfast was fabulous delivered on a silver tray with muffins, orange juice, granola and fresh fruit. cookies and chocolates on our pillows when we arrived. the pool looked very nice... My husband and I recently returned from a 35th wedding anniversary trip to Carmel and San Francisco and stayed at the Adobe Inn for the first leg of our trip. I would highly recommend this inn as well as the location. We stayed in a "village view" room and it was great and we loved the fireplace. We enjoyed a... More

My husband and I came to Carmel for a romantic getaway. After much research, we decided on the Adobe Inn based on the good reviews. For the price we paid ($276 a night including fees), we expected a lot more. First, we were a little shocked at the disclaimers displayed in the lobby which pretty much stated you are screwed... The location is very central in the Village with free on-site parking for 1 car--helpful in a town like Carmel. We booked a "spacious king with horizon ocean view." It was indeed wonderfully spacious and faced the ocean from the second floor, but as the Pacific is 7-8 blocks away, a number of tightly packed rooflines stand between the Inn... More

Our room as large and the decor was modern but not relaxing (no easy chairs, no desk). The positives first, central location in Carmel, on site garage parking, very friendly staff, good continental breakfast quiet room, comfortable bed. The negatives, no suitcase stand, no drinking glasses, one bathrobe for two people, no suitable table for in room continental breakfast. The... More

Plain rooms, amentities, service. Nothing stuck out. Stayed in the two room suite with a very small partial ocean view in the far. Breakfast was disapointing. Continental breakfast would have been an upgrade.

We had a great time in Carmel, and the Adobe Inn played a special part. It is conveniently located to everything we wanted to see and do. The service and complementary breakfast are outstanding. We would definitely go back.

Front desk pleasant and easy to deal with. Room was clean, comfortable, enjoyed the fire. Great central location to the gallerys and restaurants of Carmel. Good off street parking.

Our "ocean view" room was large and comfortable. The furnishings were typical of a good motel rather than a B&B, but that was no drawback. The service at the front desk was friendly and professional, and the price was perhaps 20% less than you'd expect to pay in central Carmel for these accommodations. The continental breakfast, however, was disappointing. There... More

My husband and I just wanted to get away for one night, it was wonderful! Very clean room, cookies ready for us...I loved the morning breakfast...much more than a standard "continental"..warm muffins, delicious granola cereal...nice presentation too. I liked the fireplace in the room, very comfortable feel. We loved the location, central to restaurants, shopping, not too far from the... More
