Stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed it. The desk staff are friendly and helpful. The room was a very good size with some nice features including a cosy fireplace. Breakfast was delivered each morning to the door in a picnic basket - really nice touch. Walking distance to several exceptionally good restaurants. Thoroughly recommended.

We made our reservation via Booking.com as soon as we arrived in Carmel and realized that the hotel we had booked was too far from the Main Street. When we got at Horizon Inn the front desk lady, that was in a terrible bad mood, said she could not find our reservations and probably we booked somewhere else because booking.com... More

This darling inn is in a great location. It is close enough to the main downtown area on Ocean but just a few blocks away so that it feels more private and less busy. We had a nice king sized bed and a fireplace. The room was clean and had the amenities we needed, such as a coffee maker and... More

This hotel has a great location...close to the quaint downtown area without being right in the middle of it. They have a parking lot and on-street parking, we never had any issues finding a spot. Also, it has some great amenities. The whirlpool/outdoor fireplace area are beautiful and relaxing. We loved the picnic basket breakfast delivery every morning....very charming and... More

We loved this spot. We stayed in the lodge with our pup. He loved it too. Fire place, lots of space. Rustic and a little dated, but really just what we want in Carmel. A spot you can be comfortable kicking your feet up in front of the wood burning fire. Friendly staff. Nice walk to downtown. We'll be back!

We stayed in this not so cheap hotel for two nights. Our room was small with no A/C. The room was not maintained properly. The carpet had several big stains, not something one should expect in a hotel that charges 250 usd a night. The worst thing was that the lights operated on a timer, so it was lights out... More

We stayed at Horizon Inn which was the place my brother and his wife had made reservations at for the 1/2 Marathon. We had a King room which had a very comfortable bed, large clean room that had a frig, microwave, coffee/pot, dishes but best of all, a different breakfast every morning for 2 delivered to our door each morning... Many of the in-town places to stay in Carmel are of the "motor lodge" variety and Horizon Inn is of that sort. Despite the exterior doors, it seemed a safe enough stay. The room was nice-ish, though the silk flowers/faux ficus are a real downgrade. It is very convenient to Downtown Carmel, but uphill from Ocean Ave. so be prepared... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I would personally like to think that our Inn is more than just a "motor lodge". Every year we reinvest back into the property in an effort to give our guests the most value for their dollar. In the last two years we have replaced all the draperies, recovered the... More

It's difficult trying to find hotels in Carmel during high season, but I got lucky! Found the Horizon Inn thru TripAdvisor, and it showed no vacancy, like all the others I had viewed! But, I decided to go to their website anyway and found a headline that read "Last Minute Specials". If there are cancellations, they are not posted on... More

I faithfully read all our reviews but as we are a small staff of only 10 persons it's rarely feasible for me sit down and write a thoughtful response. I wanted to let you know how appreciated your detailed account of your visit was. All the special features that I feel sets us a part from our competitors were thoughtfully... More
