Practically a stone's throw from the ocean... you can, as advertised, hear the surf on the beach. Quiet area and a convenient walk to restaurants and stores in Carmel. Nicely landscaped, does need a little refreshening here and there, but overall really nice! Comfortable bed too...

Just one block to the beach, nice rooms, good and helpful staff, great location, like being in your home. I took great pictures staying there. They could improve the breakfast a little bit, I don't like boiled eggs =P

We stayed here for one night as part of our drive up the pacific highway from LA to San Francisco. It's a charming series of rooms across various buildings with a real colonial character (living up to its name). Our room was large and tastefully decorated although the bathroom was a little bit dated. However its a great location to... More

Very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Good location near the centre of Carmel and the beach. Very nice rooms. Good breakfast included in the price as well as wifi. I really recommend this hotel if you're going to Carmel.

My wife and I stay here when we come to town, great prices, fireplaces, old rooms with the court yard are wonderful. The type of place where we love to read a wonderful book. Close to the beach and the walks at night on the sidewalk by the beach are priceless.

Charming inn nestled in a beautiful setting one block from the beach, it provides the perfect place for a relaxing getaway and is close to downtown with its array of interesting shops, galleries and restaurants.

Just what we were looking for in an coastal retreat for the weekend. We would certainly return, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Walking distance from the hub of downtown and restaurants, and just a block from the ocean. The smaller rooms have adequate hanging space, but limited drawers/shelving. In room refrigerator was great, as was bottled water refreshed daily. Nice... More

We have enjoyed the ambiance of Colonial Terrace on several occasions and wouldn't think of going anywhere else when we are in the area. A lovely relaxing property so convenient to the beach & community.

We enjoyed the location of the Colonial Terrace as it is just a short walk to the beach and a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk to town from the hotel. The grounds were very pretty and relaxing and the staff was nice. The continental breakfast was better than I expected as it included hard boiled eggs and yogurt... More
