Can't say enough about this inn. Enjoyed a lovely three-night stay in a very spacious garden room with an extremely comfortable king-sized bed. Quality linens, down-filled duvets, down pillows. Very clean. Functional kitchenette equipped with a Keurig, microwave, and small fridge. Flat-screen TV with DirectTV, gas fireplace, nice seating area in front of bay window with wooden slat blinds. Each... More

Such a lovely Inn and a fantastic location, I felt like I stepped into an era from the past! Our room had a very comfortable king bed and a small view of the ocean. It was nice to open the windows at night and hear the waves rolling onto the beach. Our room was large, clean and comfortable but sparse.... More

What has not abusive price in Carmel in 'summer' months? This hotel is ok for its price and it was a 'deal' compared to other options. Big room, clean, with all amenities. Cute construction, would need some update, but overall I enjoyed it.good location.

We stayed here on our trip up Highway 1. The location is great, just steps from the beach and an easy walk to the shops and restaurants in downtown Carmel. The room was large and very comfortable. The only downside was the room was quite stuffy when we arrived, and it had no air conditioning. A friendly staff member found... More

We extended a business trip in Silicon Valley with 2 nights in Carmel and made the perfect choice in locations. The Colonial Terrace was just a block off the beach and under a mile walk to the downtown area shops and a half a mile walk the other way to the Mission Ranch. Parking in Carmel is terrible so it... Carmel is stunningly beautiful. This Inn is ok, well priced, well located for the beach, a good walk from downtown (in pitch dark, bring a flashlight!), the rooms are basic enough with heaters and fires and when the sun sinks in Carmel you realize why, it gets chilly. The room is small, and quite stuffy though with what appear to... More

Walking by, over the years of wandering lovely Carmel, I often noted the crisp white wood buildings and lush landscaping of The Colonial Terrace. Until our last visit, we had stayed at couple familiar places at increasingly higher costs resulting in shorter, less frequent stays. Planning a recent trip, while poking around for a new inn to try, a came... More

We just returned from a trip to visit friends in Carmel and we stayed one night in the Colonial Terrace. It was truly exceptional. The location is hard to beat (we could hear the ocean from our room at night), the room was spotless, the bed comfortable, and the morning breakfast was fresh and delicious. We will definitely stay here... More

Oh, where to begin? The pics of the rooms online are misleading - our $200+ room was smaller than a motel room. The "fireplace" is a gas heater, and there is only one small, thin dresser to put some clothes in - no other surfaces to place things, no desk, no extra lamps. We wound up putting most of our...
