It's located in a beautiful residential neighborhood one block from Carmel City beach. My room was number 7 with a deck with views of the ocean and a fantastic sunset. The room was cozy with a fireplace. Small yes but functional and charming. The grounds are well taken care of with green lawns, flowers, and sitting areas. The lobby is... More

This is a traditional style building set in lovely gardens in a quiet residential area. Very close to the beach and walking paths along the ocean. Our room was a bit small for an extended stay, but was fine for the one night we were there. The staff are friendly and concerned about the guest experience.

I liked the cozy little Room 27 with the gas fireplace that warms the room up very quickly. I like to location just a short the block to 13th Cove at Carmel Beach. I would appreciate having WI-FI. Thank you.

Quiet, cozy grounds with out door fireplace. One block down to the beach. Can't really go wrong. We got the family suite since their were five of us so it was pricier than I would have like but it made it possible for the rest of the visiting relatives to meet up at our room before heading of to the... Very nice place. Not your typical hotel style. More of a bed and breakfast type of look. My only complaint was the bed. I like a firmer mattress and theirs was too soft. I felt like I was sleeping in a trough. They said all their mattresses were the same and they buy not the softest and not the firmest.... More

In the heart of Carmel the Colonial Terrace is steps away from the main town as well as only about a half block up from the beach. How can you beat that? We received a complementary upgrade to an Ocean View room which was lovely. Our room had our own patio, full ocean view, AND FIRE PLACE BY THE BED!... More

Positives: Great location, good service, great continental breakfast (though it would be better if it opened at 6, not 7 and the front desk was relocated away from patrons eating), clean room. Negatives: Stayed in #10. Drab. Needs refurbishing, especially bath area. I'm only 5'7" and I found shower way too small (height and depth). Toilet flushing problem. Also, you... More

Colonial is walking distance to ocean. The staff is friendly and the place is so quiet and relaxing. In road to eight different cities prior to Colonial and the bed was most comfortable. Very relaxing and incredible star show at night

My husband and I stayed here while traveling up the coastline. We came upon the Colonial by a local who highly recommended it. It was beyond our expectations. Very charming with our little kitchen, comfortable bed and very clean. We loved the fireplace and our partial ocean view. the breakfast was a good start simple but go for on the... More

The heater was not working when we arrived. This should be checked before guests check in. Blinds on french doors were cheap plastic and were broken. She also be dark for day time napping for elderly.
