My father-in-law raved about this hotel and was his go-to place when visiting Monterey peninsula. This hotel is right along the main drive, Ocean Ave, of Carmel by the Sea. Walking distance to shopping, and many great dining locations. We visited here one night with the kids. They begrudgingly went along with shopping all the art galleries, if we went... More

The best thing about Normandy Inn is its location. The Inn itself was cute with lots of hanging flower baskets on the balcony, and is located in the cutest part of downtown Carmel. The shops and restaurants in the area are the quintessential romantic Carmel. The rooms at Normandy Inn are small and basic and a bit out dated (it... More

Stayed in Maison Bridgitte. Smelled musty on our arrival - soon sorted out with cranking up the heating ( well turning it on actually!). All a bit tired. Right in the middle of Carmel though and the team were helpful. Not sure we would repeat the experience.

We found a great price on orbitz.com ($98) and had low expectations. My mother stayed next door to us. Our room had a musty smell and was average size. The linens were clean. The bathroom was very outdated. I went next door to my mom's room and her bathroom was completely remodeled with tasteful decor. If I was rating her... More

Our first stay in Carmel, and this was one of the least expensive, but central location. We are glad we booked this Inn. The location is as most said - really great. At the end of Ocean Ave, where the main shopping is located. Carmel has short streets and is very walkable. The Inn is out-dated, but I suspect most... More

We have been to the Normandy Inn several times and find it convenient, comfortable and very affordable. It is located on Ocean Avenue, the main street of town, but is just past most of the stores and restaurants so it's quiet. Although it isn't a fancy spot, the rooms are spacious and there is plenty of storage space. A free... More

We had a one night stay in Carmel and saw a decent price on this inn. It looks small and cute from the front but it is actually quite large, but yo wouldn't really know it with all the little side courts and cottages. There was a nice continental breakfast. The room was quite comfortable for the price and kinda... More

I stayed in a cottage operated by this hotel in Carmel. The cottage was a good size with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living/dining area and a small kitchen. The cottages are located right across the street from the hotel and are in the middle of town so they are very convenient to shops, restaurants and the beach. The hotel lobby... More

Location for this hotel is within walking distance to downtown. Parking is tough. There are not nearly enough spaces for the guests. We were fortunate to find a spot in front of the hotel, but many end up having to park on side streets. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, but not air conditioned. The room is a bit... More

This is a charming older hotel. The rooms are a bit old but that adds to the charm. There was ample room, the bathroom was updated and the room was very quiet. The best part of this hotel is the location. It was a short walk to the business district for shopping and dinner. Then, in the morning we walked... More
