Extended layout linked by charming courtyards filled with flowers and sunshine. Upmarket rooms and Inn at reasonable prices gives great value. Rooms reasonable size, tastefully furnished and clean. Self service breakfast a little limiting and by all other standards set at this hotel, it was disappointing.

We just happened upon the Normandy Inn as we passed through Carmel 2 weeks ago. One room left, we took it & ended up staying an additional night as well. It's quite reasonable for where it is situated, right in the heart of the 'bubble" that is Carmel. A couple of blocks from the beach & all the world class... More

I wanted to love this place so much. The location is perfect and it is extremely photogenic. But in reality?... I wish we'd stayed somewhere else. The staff was really nice and I think they would have taken care of any specific issues we had. But the problem was there was no particular issue. It was just a bit outdated.... More

This hotel is older, but charming. Our room was very roomy and nice, but the bathroom is very dated. Our room was in the back and very quiet. This is a great location in the town, an easy walk to the beach and all shopping and restaurants.

Very near the beach and the main town. Had two rooms next door to each other. Large bathrooms, spacious. Pillows not very comfortable. However had a very poor night due to someone snoring all night next door- and our son heard it two doors away! The breakfast was in a tiny area - ok but not very exciting.

Located a couple blocks from the beach on beautiful Ocean Blvd in Carmel. Quaint and very clean, unique rooms , ours had beamed ceilings & a glimpse of the ocean, all have fireplaces. Small cafe serves continental breakfast.

Spent one night in June 2014 and loved the location. Short walk to the beach as well as the main town on Ocean Avenue. Hotel has been in Carmel for a long time but has been maintained in very good shape. The location is very beautiful with lots of hanging baskets and fuchsias which do exceptionally well in the cool... More

Stayed for one night. Great location for shops and beach, but the walls, floors and ceilings are paper thin! Up all night listening to the person above us SNORE all night long. Every step they took sounded like an elephant was going to come through the ceiling. Cute, but old and needs to be updated. Musty smell needs to be... More

Stayed for one night, we loved the character this hotel offers. Yes its an older building but very clean, some updating has been done. If you like things outside of the norm this is a perfect place. Each room is unique, this is not your cookie cutter 4 story Holiday Inn. There are stairs, spiral staircases and a small parking... More

I could open the windows from my room and hear the ocean! What a joy to come back to this oasis after a long day at the beach, shopping and walking. The location can't be beat -- walking distance to everything, the beach is only 3-4 blocks. Even the bathroom was pretty. This is one of the few hotels in... More
