If you are looking for a 5-star resort with marble counter tops, gold plated bathroom fixtures, concierge service and a fully stocked wet bar, you need to go elsewhere and spend $500 per night. If you want a quaint, comfortable, affordable, charming room in the perfect Carmel location, Normandy Inn is a terrific choice. Older, yes, but really has everything... More

We were in Carmel in August, and it was our third trip to this very charming city. I opted for a room with a fireplace, and we were pleased with the size of the room. It was on the second floor and very spacious. The bathroom was a decent size, but it lacked counter space around the sink. The area... More

I enjoyed Carmel-by-the-Sea and this hotel is in the central area where eating and shopping is easy. We stayed at their cottage away from the main building. The room was large with kitchen and eating area. It had fireplace and the ceiling was high. Outside had patio and a little garden with table and chairs for relaxing. Breakfast was ample... More

This older inn has such character and attractive architectural design. It is clean and comfortable. The rooms are not huge and toilet space is a bit cramped, but the charm over rides these things. It is close to the main walk of stores and in walking distance to a wonderful selection of restaurants and eateries. A breakfast with all variety... More

My family has stayed at the Nomandy Inn for years and we just love it. The 100 series rooms are the best with beamed ceilings and fireplaces in some. The breakfast is plentiful and the inn is always clean and the staff always friendly. Since it is at the bottom of the main street in Carmel, you are able to... More

Here's your choice - a great place to stay with nice personnel and comfortable rooms right on Ocean Ave. where either everything is located or you can easily walk to it. We really enjoyed our four-night stay and will definitely return. Everyone was accommodating, courteous, helpful, and it's a very cute throw-back-in-time establishment.

We just returned from a night at the Normandy Inn. The location is fabulous and the hotel is quaint. Others have called it outdated, but I don't believe that is how I would describe it. The room is very adequate with all the expected ammenities, though no air coniditioning, but doubt if it is needed too often as the hotel... More

Pros: Location. Cons: Extremely slow (basically unuseable) wifi. Room is very dated. Very little noise insulation - you can hear people in the other rooms and on the street. Black material comes out of the tap - not sure what it is! Dirty wine glasses provided. Subpar breakfast. Help desk people were not helpful at all. Really no reason to... More

We stayed at the Normandy Inn on July 23 for one night. Contrary to the positive reviews I just read, I experienced several problems. The most important was that the mattress was so firm that I had difficulty sleeping and woke up with a back ache the next morning. Moreover, there was no air conditioning, the toilet seat wouldn't stay... More
