My husband and I stubbled across Edgemere Cottages online, and I am so, so glad we did. It is a lovely B&B a block-ish from the beach, with friendly owners, in-house cats :) and amazing breakfast. It's also dog-friendly, which was very important for me. Although my dog has since passed, I would never consider staying anywhere else in Carmel.

We stayed in the Rosemont Cottage. It was so gorgeously decorated. All green and red and pink. Lovely lavender lotion (just saying!). Service was great and breakfast was scrumptious! We were served Raison and Cinnamon French toast, fresh fruit, and sausage. Yum!

My husband and I stayed for 3 days here, in Piccadilly Cottage. What an amazing place. Starting with Gretchen, the woman who runs the show, to the two friendly cats Riff Raff and Magenta. The room was wonderful, the grounds are magical and the breakfasts, cooked by Gretchen were beyond amazing. Only 1 block to the beach, the Edgemere Cottages... More

Charming accommodations, excellent breakfast, magical location and reasonable rates. Our very first stop on our very first visit to California could not have been better. Eat at Grasings in town for a wonderful dining experience. Spend time at Point Lobos park and drive down CA1 to the Hearst Castle. You won't be disappointed.

Charming....Charming place. We just returned from staying at Edgemere Cottages. We stayed in the Rosemont, but from what we saw the other cottages were just as charming. I however feel in love the Rosemont and next time I will request that cottage..2 rooms both with fireplaces. The living area has everything you need - real wood burning fireplace, fully ready... My husband and I stayed 2 nights over Thanksgiving weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We found Edgemere through tripadvisor and was not disappointed. We stayed in the Patio room and it was very cozy and welcoming. The house cats were a great addition and made us feel as if we were staying with family. The breakfasts were amazing and kept... More

My mom and I were not looking for an over-luxurious place to stay in Carmel -- we wanted something charming, approachable, and homey, and we found it! Gretchen's place feels lived-in and we felt instantly at peace with our surroundings. There are so many different nooks where you can settle down, enjoy some wine and cheese, and watch the wildlife... More

My fiancé and I drove south from San Francisco and had a stop over in beautiful Edgemere Cottages. We loved it. Fantastic service from the owners, great breakfast and cool house cats. The location, only a minute's walk to the beach is also great - we bought some firewood, a bottle of wine, and had a barbecue down there. Recommended.

We just got back from a week in Carmel at Edgemere Cottages. What a lovely place to spend a week! Our hosts Gretchen and Doug have a great location and they made us feel extremely welcome. We were a block from the beach and we could hear the waves every night. The breakfasts were wonderful. I've never had quiche as... More

Carmel was the first stop in our tour of Northern California. We stayed at Edgemere in the Patio Room for 4 nights. Pros: - incredible hosts: Gretchen you are amazing and Doug you are great. Riffraff and Magenta (resident cats) you are simply adorable. - excellent location: in a residential neighborhood, super charming and picturesque, and just 1 block away... More
