Photos made it look very quaint and colorful. Not so. Bed was quite uncomfortable and floors were very dirty. Had to wear socks because there was so much dirt on the floor. Extremely noisy too. Could hear everything going on in the rooms next to us, above us and outside. One good thing...the coffee was great. But I wouldn't stay... More

My wife and I used to live in Carmel-By-The-Sea and enjoy coming back several times a year. We especially like to bring our dog and enjoy the dog-friendly beach. Casa de Carmel fits our needs quite well and is pet friendly. We have stayed here several times over the years with our dogs. It is close to the beach and... More

Love the convienent location as others have mentioned, but our room, number 3, was very small and the bathroom was a very tight squeeze with no counter space at all for toiletries. It was the least expensive room so I guess we got what we paid for, but the bathroom needs paint and the comforter on the bed needs to... More

Wonderful location to the village with all it's cafes, shops, bars & galleries. Warm hospitality, very clean and tidy rooms with comfortable bed and nice extra touches in the room that were all complimentary, including breakfast basket to your room in the morning. Very reasonable rate. Pretty hard to fault, definitely recommend it.

When we first drove up our first reaction was "no, this is not the place that we want to stay" since this was clearly a 50's motel on a narrow lot with very limited parking, and the parking that was there requires considerable talent in backing up in order to get out. The room (unit 4, with a king size... More

This hotel has lots of Carmel charm and the location is perfect. The upstairs rooms are quiet and the beds are very comfy. You'll get a knock at the door at 8:30 am and a basket is delivered with your breakfast - usually some pastry, hard boiled eggs, juice (coffee is in the room) and fruit. It's a nice start... More

Came here with my girlfriend for a combination valentines day/2 year anniversary trip and we could not have been more pleased. The location is nearly unbeatable, right off of Ocean Street, near shopping, restaurants, and galleries and just a short walk to the beach. Leora at the front desk was amazing. She was very accommodating, she gave us a complimentary... More

Thank you Doug and Kristina for the most fantastic 3 days at your Casa de Carmel. We loved every thing about our stay. The unique way of serving the breakfast delivered in a basket every morning was great, and so much fun. You made us feel like family. The only bad thing about our stay was that we had to... More

Stopped in this past weekend with no reservation-we took the last available King room. It was in the back corner under the stairs and the maid's room. We figured the noise level would be reasonable but it turned out to be very noisy. Luckily Carmel is not a town known for it's night life, so people settled down relatively early.... More

A great choice for those of us who like to drop the car (and leave it!) and enjoy being able to access the town of Carmel hassle free. This delightful, little hotel offers a central location with parking, clean and comfortable rooms (they may be small, but we had no issue with the size) and a warm reception with delightful... More
