We needed a place to stay on Friday night of Memorial Weekend. The Clarion accepted a one night stay instead of the usual two nights on a Holiday weekend and their price was reasonable considering the situation. We had an upstairs corner room that was spacious and clean. This isn't a romantic getaway accommodation but certainly a good value. You can... More

This is located very well in the midst of restaurants and shops. Even on the same street as out favorite lunch place Patisserie Boissonniere. Bed is comfortable, room clean and the breakfast basket worked out well. Not the most luxurious but good for the price.

About half of my 10 day trip to CA was spent in a few different hotels along the coast, the Clarion being my final, and after quite the exciting, white-knuckle drive in the dark along the cliffs of Big Sur, I finally happened upon my booked-online, sight unseen 'home' for the evening. And, when I opened the door (after the... More

We stayed here last year. It's a decent place to lay your head. I was disappointed our room basically seemed run down. The bathroom was clean, but very tiny. And there were gnats or fruit flies all over. Every time we swatted one, a few minutes later we noticed another. Within the two hours we spent in the room before... More

This is an excellent hotel. The staff could not be more friendly or accommodating. They really make you feel at home, from the first welcome, to the wonderful picnic basket breakfast outside your door in the morning, through your entire stay. It is walking distance from Ocean Ave and many great restaurants, including Vesuvio, which was wonderful. Parking is great.... More

My wife and I have stayed in 5 star hotels in the US, Europe, Africa and Asia, and in a dirt-floored Rwandan roundavel. This place is none of these, but it is a clean, comfortable, convenient, place in the near-center of Carmel. It is staffed by friendly, helpful, and competent people. The breakfast is simple ... fruit, sweet roll, dry... More

An OK hotel. Property is a bit dated and the room decor is awful (in the eye of this beholder). The sponged on colors on the walls could give you nightmares. The breakfast is a basket delivered to your room. We knew this going in, but it still isn't great. Too much sugary snacks - would be better being more... More

Look for "Carmel Oaks" on sign, Clarion is in tiny letters. Property is in great location, walk to beach, cafes, shops. Our room rundown, walls unfinished, gaping holes where towel rack supposed to be. Towels piled on toilet. Good shower. Comfortable bed. Efficient fridge. No microwave. Poor breakfast only starches, a red apple, milk and OJ. Good heater. Hotel ran... More

OK, the Good: Great location, reasonable price, comfortable bed, nicely decorated room, unique breakfast serving. Now, the Bad: Disinterested desk clerk, no window locks, small (though nice) bathroom, no closet door/cover, 'bare' windows with just blinds, hard to read signage outside, especially at night, we drove by first, then realized the small print at the bottom said Clarion Collection. The... More

The Clarion Collection Carmel is a great combination of being a comfortable stay, a good value and in a great location. Carmel can be a expensive place to stay but Clarion Collection is much more reasonably priced than most options in Carmel. Our room was nicely decorated and had remodeled & modern bathroom that would do a 4 star hotel... More
