I booked this inn based on a Groupon or Living Social special and it was really cheap for Carmet ~$100-110 a night. And I could bring my dog. I found it to be extremely noisy (most rooms looked out into a courtyard where people gathered to talk)--both from hotel guests and neighboring appartments. My dogs bark at unfamiliar noises so... just left today-got the deal through living social -the room was fine, clean and bed comfortable-however, parking is the pits-have to move car as there are limited spots in the inn parking lot and breakfast had no protein-just Costco muffins etc-staff not too friendly especially the front desk-won't go back to this inn so sad as we travel to Carmel/Monterey... It saddens me to write this review. I had such high hopes for this inn. Unfortunately the beds were not firm at all, in fact the mattress dipped in the middle the second we got in. The walls are paper thin. Meaning you can hear people showering, going the bathroom, sneezing, children crying (I think you get the picture). When... More

B&B Inn is a throwback to the 70s-80s era with push button desk phones & room heaters Least expensive vs other hotels. Great morning Breakfast: muffins, coffee, tea. juice & water Not far from Hogs Breath Inn. Only ammenities to today: HD TV & WiFi. Each room even has a VCR & VCRs to Rent from front office. My room... More

Our younger son and his family live in nearby Pacific Grove, and we love Carmel, so when we visit, it is fun to stay in Carmel. We wound up at the Fireplace on a Living Social voucher and for what we paid, we didn't expect much. The Fireplace Inn exceeded our expectations especially after we read some of the snarky... More

Thought the pictures online looked charming and quaint, but the property turned out to be run down ... and this was one of the pricier cottage-style suites. My first impression was a shabby exterior, with a white picket fence that was dirty with top rails that have been rotting for many years, and part of the wooden handrail was an... More

My husband and I stayed in room 34 above the parking. The room is nice and comfortable with a gas fireplace, which was a nice touch. The location is perfect, 3 blocks walk to ocean's avenue. We read the reviews and hence skipped breakfast. There are nice bakeries around so we didn't want to risk having those costco muffins. The main... More

What a lovely environment. Placed in the garden with private pathways to your room. Double Dutch doors, amazing breakfast. Although in the center of town, there is a private quietness. My stay was for the Big Sur Marathon, runner pick up was right around the corner. This B&B is will be on my list for a repeat stay.

Not really an Inn or B&B more of an older hotel - which is ok. Booking was actually great Robin very helpful - rest of the staff when we were there not so much. Parking a huge issue they have 7 spots for the 20 rooms - and make you feel like it's your fault for not parking when you... More

Cute & quaint cottage property amid well groomed gardens. Many cottages w Dutch doors. All rooms have the namesake fireplace. Quiet even though property on a well traveled street. Standard continental breakfast not worth getting up for. Front desk staff can be abrupt when stressed. Good central location to/from Ocean Ave. but private parking limited.
