This is my first review in quite a while, so I’ll make it as concise as possible. The Carmel Fireplace Inn is a very, and I do mean very, nice place. Small, comfortable and old world are the terms that come to mind. As the name suggests, our room had a fireplace (both gas and wood burning are offered) and... More

I really like this place. It's moderately-priced, and the rooms are cozy, clean and nicely-appointed. It's a group of small buildings which house cottages or rooms. Little winding paths, gardens and water features lead between the buildings. There's a little courtyard garden area with a table where you can sit and eat or hang out. It's in a nice location... The room was small, but the queen bed was comfortable and the gas fireplace was a really nice touch for the chilly night. The only thing I didn't like was the shower: very small and very dark. Everything was clean and there was a small vase with flowers and a card when we arrived because it was a honeymoon trip.... More

We had a spacious room for four with a king size bed and a queen size bed, and two bathrooms. We loved the room and the quaint atmosphere of the inn. The following day we enjoyed a lovely breakfast with delicious muffins and fresh fruit. We will certainly come back if we are in the area again.

This small cottage enclave at the edge of downtown Carmel offers cozy rooms, all different. This is no cookie-cutter motel but a time capsule from decades past. In fact, we returned here after having visited 38 years ago. Why? Simple. After we settled into the room (done up in Delft blue and white wallpaper and knotty pine), my wife said... More

I enjoyed staying at this place. It's a bit dated but the bed was really comfortable and shower hot and powerful. Free wifi was available in our room and we had a little patio where we could sit out on. It was about a 15 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute walk to lots of good restaurants.

We rented the cottages which are detached from the B&B. A bit old but clean and tidy. Location was great and walking distance to great restaurants and the beach and a quick drive to the main attraction on the Monterrey peninsula. I recommend it for a family of five. Staff was very helpful and kind.

We were in unit 36, king bed. Upon opening the door and walking in, it became very apparent that the picture posted for this room on their website was not recent. The room looked worn, furniture, carpeting, wallpaper all needed to be replaced. The newest piece of furniture was the TV. The wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom. Old tile... More

The big draw for booking this Inn was the fireplace. And it did add some needed ambiance to the room which is small--but clean and quiet. The bed (king size) was comfortable. Parking can be an issue (we had to park on the street at times) and the breakfast is pretty much standard for the area--coffee, juice, bagels, pastries. Staff... More

we recently booked rooms for my daughters wedding. My husband and I resented a 2 bedroom cottage that was on next block( within 1 block) . Was fully equipped with full kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We enjoyed our stay so much. We were not in a high traffic area, beds were super comfy and there was... More
