Staying at the Candle Light Inn, Carmel California was a wonderful experience. The staff could not have been nicer, doing everything they could to make our stay so enjoyable. The room was large, cozy and very clean. The breakfast brought to the door each morning was a good start to the day. The new outdoor fireplace added a nice ambiance... more

We stayed one night with this charming inn. The room was not 4 star room but well maintained and clean. I selected this property because it was a short walk to all restaurants and shops and with a reasonable price. It was delightful to see the fire was going at the courtyard when we walked back from the dinner. We... more

This hotel has old & crummy furniture. Their downstair rooms are dark, with ugly views of their garden tools storage and old alley/ I had to close all the shades, and so the room was DARK! The bathroom is small and had NO HAIRDRYER. The bedding is cratchy, not comfy at all. For a room that costs mid $200, you... more

We are very disappointed to read this review, and find the tone very harsh and troubling. Although we might consider a few of the comments as valid opinion, there seems to be an overall attempt here to generally smear every aspect of our inn. Overall, we disagree with the broad critical comments, and would like to correct some of the...

Stayed here 4 nights. Only a couple of minutes walking distance to the Carmel shops and restaurants and about 15 min walk to Carmel beach (down a steep hill!), It's a beautiful white sand beach where even dogs are allowed off leash! A cooler was delivered outside of the door each morning containing a continental breakfast. Cereals, pastries, yogurt, fruit,... more

This is a great place to stay in Carmel. Ideally located for the town and the fabulous beach. Our room (room 20) was large, well equipped and had its own kitchen. Great value for money. more

We booked the lowest cost room for an off season get away. We arrived early and ungraded to a room with a whirlpool tub. The weather was clear and brisk. The inn is located within walking distance to shopping and fine dining. The accomodation was superb, everything we were expecting from the pictures on the web site. We got a... more

We stayed at the Candle light inn because we wanted a hotel in Carmel for a reasonable price. It was a cute hotel in a great location (could walk to restaurants). It was a great stay for the low price we were paying. I strongly recommend Christophers restaurant on Lincoln Ave. and it is within walking distance from the hotel more

I went in with a little lower expectation of the place, but it surpassed my thoughts. The Candle Light Inn was such a great place to stay. It's located right next to the Hog's Breath restaurant and is really conveniently located to all the shops in town. It's about 5 blocks up from the beach, but it's a nice walk.... more

My wife, two children and I had a great stay at the Candlelight Inn recently. We stayed in room #12 which has a small room with a double bed, bathroom, a small countertop area with coffee/microwave and a large bedroom with two doubles, a fireplace, desk etc. The room was perfect with our two year old sleeping in her pack... more

This is a quaint little inn where you can park your car and forget about it for a few days while you walk about town. Carmel isn't too big so everything is within a reasonable walking distance. I paid $139 midweek for a king room with a whirlpool tub. The room is very spacious and the bathroom is slightly crowded... more
