The Briarwood is a comfortable convenient place to stay right in Downtown Carmel. We had a good sized room, clean bathroom and a free continental breakfast in the morning. Walkable to everything. The decor is homey, not chic.

This was a great little inn to stay at. Right in the heart of the town, you can walk to everything from here. The room was large yet cozy, clean and comfortable. There was a free social hour with delicious local wine from nearby winery, along with complimentary glasses to keep as a memento of our stay. The staff was... More

Arrived in Carmel in the dark and stumbled across this boutique style accom. We were actually recommended by another (more expensive) lodging that we arrived at first for an enquiry. Lisa on the front desk was so helpful. The room itself is best described as homely. It even had a gas fire, but wasn't needed. Small wc and bathroom, but... More

OK, our major gripe? No AC, that's right....no AC. We were slightly hot, but the weather was cool. We stayed in september so I don't know if this would be a problem in other warmer months. The location is perfect, just perfect. It has about 4 parking spots for double the rooms, or more. We had to park about 3... More

We decided to head to Carmel for one night in Saturday. It's nearly impossible to get a reservation for one night so we thought we would wing it. We showed up in town and stopped in here. The staff were very accommodating! We got a room for the night with our two dogs. The room was comfortable and well located... More

We were found this place by a different hotel. Everyone is friendly and helpful in America. We were shown the room, very clean and well presented- cute. Very helpful host Tina recommended a restaurant affia on the corner of sixth ave. Brilliant, first class food. Overall fantastic start to the world class carmel. Home from home

Initially, we did not plan to spend a night in Carmel. But after getting there fairly late in the afternoon (and not being close to a campground) we looked for a nice B&B in this beautiful town. The Briarwood Inn turned out to be a really good choice. The rooms are very cosy, the breakfast is truly delicious, and the... More

CONS: There was no parking available. The breakfast area was cramped and jammed up into the lobby. The bathrooms were small with painted-over grime. We could hear everything in the adjacent room through the walls. PROS: The bed was clean and comfortable. The Wi-fi was good. Conclusion: Always do your homework on Trip Advisor before reserving a room somewhere.

On our recent spur of the moment stay, the very capable front office representative - Lisa, helped us co-ordinate our hotel stay between the Briarwood Inn and the Fireside Inn. Despite the fact that we arrived in Carmel without prior reservations during the month of August, she assisted us in finding available rooms that would accommodate our needs! She even... More

We stayed this past weekend in room 41 with my husband, grown son and teenage son. The place is located conveniently next to the other inns and is an easy 5 minute walk to Oceanside shops and restaurants. The inn looks just like the outside pictures that management posted, it's quite nice.Nice staff. There is parking for each guest. The room... More
