the inn was a pleasant surprise - much better than we were expecting for the price! the room was clean, well kept and had the real carmel feel to it. service was prompt, and the caretaker was very friendly. compared to some other more expensive places we have stayed at in Carmel, this inn was much more value for money. more

I have been a steady visitor for many years and the new management is making a good thing even better. It has always been clean and cosy, but a tad dated and in need of basic upgrades. In the last year or so, there have been many upgrades, new carpets, new furniture, lighting, etc. The rooms have always been clean... more

We stayed at Carmel Resort Inn and were pleasantly rewarded. Our room was a little cottage on the corner of 1st & Guadalupe in the residential part of town. For a couple nights, we felt like we were Carmel locals! Angela was very helpful with directions and restaurant suggestions. We're looking forward to our next visit! more

I come to the area 6 - 8 times a year and ALWAYS stay at the Carmel Resort Inn. I have been staying there for about 8 years now. It has always been clean, quaint and quiet, and it has many individual cottages available. In the last year or so, there have been major upgrades, new carpets, furniture, etc. One... more

My wife and I go to Carmel a few times a year just to getaway and relax for a couple of days. We have tried several inns there and I must say most are nice for our purposes. I love the little cottages at the CRI, I like not having neighbors a wall away! The staff at CRI was great... more

We brought our friends to stay with us this trip because they had never been to Carmel. They were as impressed as we were with the Carmel Resort Inn. The ammenities were perfect, loved the cottages and the setting is absolutely beautiful. The sitting area under the trees with lovely water features surrounding you, Fabulous! We have never stayed in... more

The "Inn" was terrible. A few of the pictures on the website make it look okay, but it is not like that in real life. The room was so outdated and poorly put together. The paint was very chipped on the walls, and the bathroom walls had mold on them. I showered with my flip flops on. The room was... more

We had a two-bedroom cottage that was badly dated. Bathroom was moldy and the entire unit needed a thorough cleaning. Breakfast was delivered to our door and it was sufficient. We would not stay there again even though the San Jose Mercury recommended it. more

i understand that motels are expensive in Carmel, but is it too much to ask that the bathroom not be a mold fest? Also peeling baseboard and shower insert in bathroom was really gross. We paid almost $200/night and were told that a frig or microwave would be extra and besides the person who could bring them was gone for... more
