We were very unhappy with the room. Actually the whole place. Room was large and the bed was comfy. That's where the good stuff stops. The breakfast was two pieces of fruit, two containers of sugary juice and two cold Costco muffins. Scattered around the grounds were also sorts of box with mattresses and pieces of furniture etc. Certainly not... More

For over $200 we thought this place would be nice. It smells very badly. The carpet is very dirty. One of the cam lights goes on and off constantly. The TV doesn't work at all. Which usually isn't a problem, but we thought we'd stay in tonight. Just getting our food delivered looks very good. If they could put wood... More

stayed here for one night beofre camping for the week in Big Sur. Hotel concept is a good idea but the place could use some work overrall. the cottage we stayed in was nice, bed was comfy, parking was a little tough but manageable. the breakfast they brought in the morning was pretty good and provided some decent snacks for... Overall, it was a positive experience. The Great: The continental breakfast was excellent and included coffee and tea (Mr. Coffee machine) as well as a basket delivered to the cabin with 2 muffins, 2 danish pastries 3 yogurts, 4 juice boxes, 2 apples and 2 oranges. The Good: The greeting at the office was friendly, the cabin was clean, the... More

Good Points: - big, comfy bed - hot running water Areas for improvement: - grounds looked like a landfill site. There was a broken toilet on the ground next to our unit - wifi was not working in our unit - no A/C - no instructions on how to use the television and cable - weak water pressure

Well, I don't think I will be going back here anytime soon. If you encounter a problem after 9:00 PM, their is no customer service. We spent the day in Carmel and Monterey and had checked in earlier, though had not checked the TV. We got back at about 9:00 PM and tried to turn the TV on, we couldn't,... More

These cottages and the grounds COULD be awesome, but - alas - they are not. The landscaping has maintenance issues and just a general clean up. Can't the owners pay someone to do this??? I can't speak for ALL the cottages, but ours (#16) was "tired" and needed some updating - especially in the bathroom. Also, the fireplace didn't work,... More

This place wasn't terrible, but for the price, one should expect a lot better. I gave the inn a 3/5 because the staff was friendly and accommodating. (I told them that I would be checking out very early the next morning, so they brought the breakfast basket the night before.) The cottages themselves are a good size, but the bathrooms... More

If you can't find ANY other places to sleep; in the woods, at a sidewalk or in a container, book a room at Carmel Resort Inn. It's going to be slightly better. They have not put a single dollar into maintaining the place. It could actually be a nice place, but it's a dump. Litterarely. There was a junkyard right... More

this resort has quaint little cottages which are adequate and comfortable. Even the individual cottage names are cute. Linen towels toilets are clean. The cottage has a coffee/tea maker, fridge and a microwave.. So it's a plus while travelling with small children and toddlers who need warm milk at night. The breakfast basket has cold breakfast and you miss some... More
