Vagabond's House is the best place to stay in Carmel. It's right in the heart of Carmel downtown, but it's quiet and a little off the path so you don't hear any of the hustle and bustle of the main drag. The staff is so friendly and they go the extra mile to make sure your stay is pleasant and... More

My husband, our poodle, and I travel to the Carmel/Monterey area every year for a bike race. We've stayed in various places in Carmel and Monterey and I believe we have found our favorite in Vagabond's House Inn. I depend on reviews on Trip Advisor when searching for new places to stay and this place had so many positive reactions... More

This was our last destination on our California coastal trip and we made the right choice. There are tons of Inns in Carmel and I searched through them all. I am so pleased we chose this one. Only a small Inn but just beautiful. A wonderful water fountain running outside so there's a constant feel of tranquility. A wood burning... More

This is a perfectly located inn from which to explore Carmel, the beach, restaurants, etc. You can park your car and walk everywhere if desired. We always enjoy Room #1 when we stay, as it is basically a studio apartment with a small kitchen. The king bed is super comfortable. The fireplace is cozy. The courtyard is a lovely spot... More

Nice boutique hotel. Loved fireplace in room. Wine and cheese hour encouraged socializing. Each room had its own personality. Coffee maker was a little dirty and tub/shower high to climb into. Desk staff helpful. Overall, would definitely go back.

Cool boutique hotel! Cool rooms! Interesting, quaint, close to shopping and eating, helpful staff, breakfast delivered to room, fruit in room, decanter of brandy in room (well, I think it was brandy....I don't know much about it truthfully), happy hour with wine and cheese....just adorable!

My husband and I booked the Vagabond House Inn (room 8) for a long leisurely weekend in Carmel. Our plans were to relax and meander through the town and the Vagabond provided exactly that. Our room was bright and spacious with a large king sized feather bed, fireplace, heated marble floors in the bathroom (amazing!), and a huge claw foot... More

This place is great! Quaint, private, comfortable and highly accommodating. From our king sized feather bed, claw foot tub, heated bathroom floor, and wood burning fireplace, we couldn't have been happier. Our breakfast was delivered to our room and included champagne along with all of our pre-determined choices. In the afternoons Happy Hour was presented with cheeses , crackers, fruit... More

Just a couple of blocks off the main street of Carmel, The Vagabond's House is charming, well-appointed, and as a bonus, has off-street parking! You are warmly greeted, a bottle of champagne in the room, wine and nibbles in the afternoon, and a nice breakfast delivered to your door in the morning. A fireplace in the room wasn't really needed... More

I would like to than our hosts Thomas, Randall and Shirley. You were all so warm, gracious and fun! We loved our room with the fireplace and kitchen. Breakfast was wonderful each day. Great assortment of healthy tasty treats to get started on the day. Easy walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in town. We really enjoyed wine... More
