It was by chance that we discovered this venue after a wonderful sunset on Carmel beach. It was the perfect romantic conclusion for a perfect day. The staff is excellent and the Hotel is at a walking distance from restaurants and shops. I do recommend it. more

Another anniversary in beautiful Carmel. We have stayed in different places but I always go back to the Vagabond. Five times to be exact. They are so friendly, accommodating and the beds are so comfy cozy. You get breakfast in bed that is perfect, wine and cheese in the afternoon and the best of all walking distance to Ocean Street... more

I always recommend Vagabond's House Inn to friends and family. I've been coming to the inn for close to 20 years and always find it a place that leaves me feeling rested and happy. The staff is wonderful, particularly Margie, Vickie and Cindy (who fills in sometimes). They are kind, thoughtful, friendly people who go out of their way to... more

The staff was friendly, our room was around the back of one of the bldgs with a small pond and lots of flowers. The room itself was decorated nicely. Even had cherry in the room. Two plush bathropes for us to use. Very quite.Between 5-7 the office has cheese, crackers and wine for guest to take. The night before you... more

We just spent one night but wish we had more time! Great place to stay. We were traveling without our kids and were specifically looking for places that were romantic and not designed with kids in mind...this place was perfect. Very quaint and relaxing. We were there for Oscars night and enjoyed the nice TV for viewing...They even called from... more

I have stayed at the Vagabond 3 times, and going back next month. I've stayed with family, and with my husband. Couldn't be more perfect. Flowers, beautiful courtyard, wine/cheese tasting every evening, cozy romantic rooms with fireplaces, and a great location! You truly can't ask for a cuter place. Don't be alarmed, this is an older look but still romantic.... more

I think the guest cottages were built in the '30's, '40's(?). There's even an old phone booth still on the property. But they have been updated and maintained. The courtyard is beautiful with an old tree and flowers, fountain flowing. The main office is the original old house that belonged to an author who was one of the early Carmel... more

We (myself, husband and golden retriever Chester) just got back from a one night stay at Vagabond House Inn. It was my birthday and we just wanted a short mid-week getaway. We stayed in room #3 which had a fireplace and small kitchen. This room also had a king bed along with a twin bed against a window. I loved... more

We happened across the Vagabond by accident during the Jan 08 storms and wow, were we happy we did. This little place was a haven of peace and relaxation and our initial one night stay turned into a four day break! All thoughts of the storms outside were completely forgotten in front of the massive gas fire in our cosy... more
