My husband and I booked this place as part of a months road trip around California. Having arrived after the hair-raising drive down the pacific highway we were shown to our room at front of hotel on main street. First thing I noticed was the musty smell and threadbare awful carpet. When I asked about air con I was told... More

Beautiful small hotel with high quality staff and accommodations. No view because it is in town, but the location cannot be beat. The included breakfast is top notch too and the whole facility is charming.

My boyfriend & I visited Carmel for 2 nights for our first time at the beginning of this month. L'Auberge Carmel made our experience unforgettable! George, the manager, showed us to our lovely room when we first got there and was very accommodating from the moment we walked in. My boyfriend loved Edwin due to his generous hospitality. He made... We spent 5 days at L'Auberge in Carmel and found it to be a great place primarily because of the staff. They were friendly and extremely responsive to any requests. It is pricey but well worth the cost. The inclusive breakfast was delicious and ample.we loved the turn down service with milk and cookies every night. Our room was charming,... More

its an old property ..the room was old and we had to walk up steep steps...Our departure was quite early in the morning and we were told there would be no one to help us!! but fortunately we were with a younger friends and they pitched in!! The location is superb..a block or two to the shopping areas and we... More

The setting is lovely, breakfast is delicious and most of the staff are gracious. Unfortunately our stay was let down by the unacceptable state of the room and how the problem was dealt with. We arrived late in the evening and noticed an unusual smell in the room but let it go as we were tired and had a late... More

My wife and I stayed at L'Auberge for 4 days in July. This is a beautiful hotel with classic Carmel charm. (You have to go there to fully appreciate this). The location on the edge of town is perfect. It makes everything within short walking distance, including the beach. Our room was well appointed and quiet. What we will remember... More

We really enjoyed our stay and in my opinion, the other reviews are very accurate: very pricey, great service (for example, they went out and got us a NYT). We had a great night sleep, despite what the others have pointed out (creaky floors...). The rooms have a tad bit of a B&B ambience (but not the bathrooms which are... More

My husband & I visited Carmel for a couple days together in May for the 1st time, and we were so thrilled with our choice to stay here. It is small & intimate with a beautiful entrance that makes you feel like you are in a small town somewhere in Europe, especially with the lovely red flower boxes. The service... More
