This was our first visit to Carmel. Sorry to say Green Lantern Inn was the worse accommations of our 2 week road trip. The room was quaint but very small. The bathroom was down stairs from the sleeping area. No clothes hooks or exhaust fan in bathroom. Once we turned in for the night we pulled back the bed cover... more

We honeymooned at the Green Lantern Inn in the Redwood Room in October 1957. It was $8 a night. My husband carried me over the threshhold into a large room with a loft and 4 beds, and a kitchenette! We could have housed the wedding party! Fifty years passed and we booked the Redwood Room again for our Golden Anniversary... more

My girlfriend and I booked this B&B back in October 2007 through their online reservation system prior to reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. I was a bit horrifed after I've spent some time reading the recent reviews. I didn't want to cancel the reservation and take the $10.00 cancellation penalty, so I took a chance. What occured was an immensely... more

Tired with an unfriendly vibe describes this Inn. Green Lantern used to be my favorite reasonably priced B&B in Carmel. Not any more. Why is this place the one of the most expensive in off-season???? We planned on staying in Carmel for 4 nights, but after 1 night we looked around and decided to stay in another place that was... more

We have enjoyed staying at the Green Lantern several times. This year was our third visit. We did try to economize more this time around, which, in hindsight, was not the best idea. We booked the Palm room, which is around behind the office in the main building, up a short flight of stairs on the second level. The ceilings... more

I've stayed many times in Carmel, but really enjoyed it here. I read all the negative reviews, but tried it anyway. I was pleasantly surprised. It was one of the most inexpensive places I found, plus you could just stay for one night. The room was neat and a bit funky, but looked just like the picture. The location is... more

It was okay. That's about it. Okay. What you're paying for when you stay here is just the fact that you're in Carmel. You're not getting much more besides, really, a basic hotel room. My wife and I had the impression that maybe the owners are just phoning it in -- they have a great location in Carmel where they... more

This is a story book location. A fairy tale. We all know that Fairy Tales are: unreal . This place needs help. The pictures on its website portray it correctly albeit retouched. Look before you leap or book. This inn is from the fifties or may be the fourties: Dank and musty. An old saying " a picture is worth... more

We booked a room at the Green Lantern based on reviews, online pictures, colleagues' recommendation and phone conversation with management about size of room being adequate for two seniors. We arrived and found ourselves in the pictured room, much smaller in reality, (the smallest room we've ever encountered in a hotel or motel or B&B), and with barely enough space... more

Travelling on Highway 1, from San Francisco to Los Angeles, my family and I stayed at this inn for only one night in December. We found it to be a very pleasant place for our purpose. More than one night would have probably become complicated as the acomodations are comfortable but a bit tight. Breakfast was very nice. more
