Stayed here with my young son and hubby. It must've been a slow weekend. We were originally booked for a hotel room but was upgraded (extra $25 a night) to a cottage (unit #27). I think our cottage wasn't renovated yet- it was a lot simpler than the other cottages posted here. However, it was nice, clean, and we used... more

We found Carmel River Inn on line and decided to rent one of the cottages (#25) for two nights. We had been searching for individual cottages because we were traveling with our little dog (pooches first time) and didn't know if he would bark. Turned out he did real well and the three of us enjoyed our mini trip. Our... more

This was our second stay at the Carmel River Inn. It is true what other reviewers have said about staying ONLY in one of the newly remodeled cottages. All other rooms/cottages are very outdated and funky. The first time we stayed in the Fanny Osborne cottage and loved it. This time was a spur of the moment overnight getaway (we're... more

stayed here with my 10yo and had a great time. the location was ideal for visiting the carmel mission and not too far from the aquarium. didn't have any trouble finding the hotel, as its right off the highway. the room was in the main building. we requested and got a first floor room away from the office. in fact,... more

We stayed with our 2 children for 2 nights and enjoyed the recently remodeled and very nicely decorated cottage very much. We wish we could have stayed longer. We not only enjoyed the rustic and very handsomely decorated cottage with a private patio for breakfast and a glass of wine in the evening but also the beautiful and serene garden... more

We stayed here for two nights based on positive experiences at other Moonstone Properties and overall favorable reviews on Trip Advisor. There were four of us and we stayed in a two-bedroom cottage at a fantastic internet rate of $125 a night. The Carmel River Inn is a large property with gardens, hammocks, fountains, and a pool. We're into the... more

My wife and 5 kids, and 2 dogs spent 4 days in the Larkin Cottage, while we visited the surrounding area. It was great to have a little cottage for all of us, which included a kitchen and front yard. Traveling with dogs is hard, but this was a perfect fit for our family and dogs. It's not the fanciest... more

We choose this place because we were traveling with our small dog and needed a dog friendly place. They have cute cottages throughout the grounds in a lovely garden setting. Our cottage was very charming and comfortable (2 bedroom/1 bath). They welcomed our dog with dog biscuits, and a list of dog friendly restaurants. The cottages have a small kitchenette,... more

My husband and I, and our dog, stayed here for one night. Arriving in the evening, we were told the carpet had been recently washed, but it should be dry now and at least it was clean. In fact the carpet was still soaking wet, and the (unventilated) cabin stank of disinfectant. We should have been more suspicious, but it... more

I think a lot of people will love this place for it's quiet garden walkways and beautiful landscaping and fountains. We found the rooms to be clean and had everything we needed for our stay. I was with my wife and 3 kids and we found a trail under the hwy bridge over to Safeway that only took 1 minute... more
