Great staff. Cute property! Love how everything had been renovated since we were there last a few years ago. We stayed in a studio cottage which meant we didn't share a wall with anyone which fine with us!

My husband and I stumble upon the Carmel River Inn and we are so glad we did! We got our own little cabin house in a beautiful quiet area. It was the perfect location for us to visit Big Sur, Monterey, Carmel, and drive up to San Francisco at the end of our trip. We only anticipated staying 1 night... More

Well maintained property, but front desk receptionist "Ms. Nadia" sucks at her work. Verify your reservation thoroughly and get a written/ email confirmation. We booked a cottage with two rooms for 5 people but when we show up there is only one room for 3 people and arguments. Clearly they were greedy in making bucks on Memorial Day season. Lessons... We apologize that you were unhappy with your stay. When you booked your reservation on May 14th, 2015 we only had a studio cottage with a King bed available for the sold out holiday weekend. Nadia explained to you that it would not accomodate 5 people. We did put a rollaway into your room, which we also explained would be... More

we were traveling over Memorial Day weekend and needed one night in Carmel by the Sea to visit a relative. Most hotels and motels in the area were booked, and this was the least expensive with an opening. It was a clean motel, and the people were very nice. Amenities are minimal......coffee pot in the room, small refrigerator....and the bed... More

Thank you for staying with us at Carmel River Inn. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your great location and our beautiful setting. Rates can be higher over a holiday weekend just about anywhere you travel, so we do hope you will come back and stay with us again a different weekend when prices are not quite as high.... More

For a two-night stay in Carmel, with our dog, we chose to stay at the Carmel River Inn, and we enjoyed our time there. The inn is located five minutes south of Carmel, right off of Highway 1, but since the property is large, you can't hear the freeway from the inn. Whether we made a mistake when booking, or... More

Very nice place to stay for a family of four! It is close to everything and we really enjoyed the quaint downtown area. The staff was amazingly helpful and kind. I can't wait for a return visit and try out the cottages!

We stayed in the motel part of the Carmel River Inn. Our room was spacious, but it could have used some updates. The lamps and alarm clock were unplugged when we got there (which seemed unintentional since they plugged them in the next day). Also our patio door was unlocked, which we didn't realize until we returned to the room... More

Awesome, off the beaten path property with small motel style rooms with either patios or balconies on the Carmel River. And a number (20?) of small cottages scattered around in their natural garden setting as well. So much was abloom when I was there, frogs serenaded sleep efforts. Rustic atmosphere. The parent company seems to specialize in taking forgotten properties... More

Stayed in twice in the past year and I swear the second time was better. The cottages are really cute and most have a lawn or their own garden and back patio. Both cottages we stayed in had in-room jacuzzis which is a big plus. Our first one was a standalone so there was lots of privacy. The second one... More

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The inn is located just off the 1 about 7 minutes from downtown Carmel. It's very rustic but in a nice way. The room we were in had been repainted and recarpeted recently. The beds were extremely comfortable. We had a small issue when we checked in but the desk person took care... More
