The Carmel River Inn was very nice, basic hotel. A clean and comfortable 2BR cabin with good service at an affordable price. It was in very close proximity to Carmel town and surrounds, and we would stay again.

Half of the cabins are remodeled, I had stayed her previously in a remodeled cabin and asked for a similar one when I booked the trip over the phone. We arrived on New Years Eve and the cabins were full and we ended up in one of the unremodeled cabins which had a good bed and a large amount of... More

We were so delighted when we arrived to find a lovely, elegant house (cabin does not do it justice) so nicely landscaped all around. Great trees, and flowers even in January. We had our own private little patio and a community patio nearby with little tables where we picnicked one lunch. A nice little fountain in the middle. Inside we... More

Stayed at a cottage, beautifully decorated with vintage pieces, big bathroom and enough of counter space. Lots of space between the cabins with beautiful trees, landscaping and lawns. Great privacy and quiet due to the spacing of the cabins. And will bring the dog next time. Obvious pride of ownership. Just an exit or 2 from Ocean Ave. so very... More

This wonderful property has charming vintage & remodeled cottages as well as motel rooms. I have stayed in all 3 types and have enjoyed each of them. The motel rooms are large, clean and border the river. They are vintage but nicely furnished as well as being affordable for expensive Carmel. The remodeled cottages are luxurious. The vintage cottages are... More

We came as walk-ins and had no idea what to expect. It was very late at night and all hôtels were full! luckily, the very nice receptionist found us a room and a VERY nice room I have to say. We stayed just for one night during our trip over the California coast. We were expecting just a room and we have got a small house with 2 bedrooms. Everything was really clean and really well cared. I`ll definitely stayed there again if I get back to Carmel.

I'm excited that they are planning even more improvements this month. Missy, our border collie feels very comfortable here, plenty of privacy for her in the cottages. Great area for the dogs in the back, with rinse off hose & poop bags are plenty. Beautiful landscape, every cottage & lodge room we stayed in has been clean, comfortable, and Missy... More

We're been staying at this property for years as part of large family gatherings. We always take several cabins and make our reservations months in advance. This year we were given no consideration for the our multiple cabin booking. The recently renovated Juan Alvarado cabin was a nice, quiet, and comfortable room. But with the room rate, taxes and various... More

We stayed here one night in a regular room with a king bed. It was very 60's-70's retro in feel, very quiet, good value for the price and great for the location. Very nice people running the motel. Loved the sliding glass door out to our mini-patio, where we could see the riverside. No bath, but shower with good water... More
