Fantastic Place! Room was newly refurbished and gorgeous with fireplace and huge tub. Fridge made our meals cheaper. Garden area around our cabin was secluded and beautifully landscaped. Great Privacy with enclosed breakfast patio out of back door. We stayed here on our honeymoon almost 40 years ago and just took a chance that it would still be here. So... More

This motel we thought was cheap because it was on the highway but our room was an actual cottage set back in yet gardens by the river and was beautiful, clean and quiet with no high way noise at all. It even had a huge spa bath which was totally unexpected. It is a bit far from the main town... More

We expected more from this hotel since we stayed at other Moonstone properties. The location was good and the size of the room was fine. The bathroom needs some updating and cleaning, there was mold around some of the surfaces, it seems that they just gave the original bathroom a coat of paint and that was it. We stayed on... More

The rooms at Carmel River Inn were absolutely beautiful. We stayed in a cottage, which was decently sized with a home-ly feel. It's situated just outside the main part of town so is the perfect little getaway. The staff were very friendly and helpful too, recommending places we should stop along our coastal drive. The only negative is the wifi... More

Establishment is very old from the 1950's with no upgrades. Heater did not work. Low water pressure. Single bar of soap for 2 sinks and shower. Built like cracker box where anything is heard everywhere. People pounded on the common wall and called a complaint for just walking in and sitting down without turning on the TV. I'm 65 and... More

My cottage (Sherman) was toward the end of the road, up against California scrub and beautiful trees that made a lovely sound in the wind. Very quiet and restful. Microwave and mini-fridge included, plus a little patio in a fenced enclave. The in-room coffee was great! (I've had some elsewhere that was undrinkable.) Staff was welcoming and helpful, and I... We stayed in the Serra Cottage. It had a large living room area with fireplace, and a kitchenette. So cute and charming-we wanted to move in! Your own carport, and lawn, and lawn chairs. The gardens are lovely, the pool was warm, and everyone at the front desk was friendly. A very sweet spot-we'll be back!

We stayed for one night - room was basic, but clean. Adequate for a family of 4. We were in the main building, fronting onto carpark and near by busy road, so I was glad I had ear plugs. Main down side was that the man on reception didn't offer any information when I enquired about places to eat, so... More

We had a large dog and that limited our ability to stay in the Carmel area. We found this Inn through Trip Advisor and decided to give it a try. The cabin was absolutely spotless, which is important to us. The bed was very comfortable as was the eating area. Kitchen was lacking in pots and pans etc made it... More

I have been coming to this Inn for the past 5 years every August and I have to say it is the quietest place to get some sleep. The cabins (I always get the Steinbeck) are in a garden like setting amongst tall trees. You follow a little garden path to your one story cozy retreat. There are fountains, hydrangeas,... More
