Very nice place to stay for a family of four! It is close to everything and we really enjoyed the quaint downtown area. The staff was amazingly helpful and kind. I can't wait for a return visit and try out the cottages!

We stayed in the motel part of the Carmel River Inn. Our room was spacious, but it could have used some updates. The lamps and alarm clock were unplugged when we got there (which seemed unintentional since they plugged them in the next day). Also our patio door was unlocked, which we didn't realize until we returned to the room... More

Awesome, off the beaten path property with small motel style rooms with either patios or balconies on the Carmel River. And a number (20?) of small cottages scattered around in their natural garden setting as well. So much was abloom when I was there, frogs serenaded sleep efforts. Rustic atmosphere. The parent company seems to specialize in taking forgotten properties... More

Stayed in twice in the past year and I swear the second time was better. The cottages are really cute and most have a lawn or their own garden and back patio. Both cottages we stayed in had in-room jacuzzis which is a big plus. Our first one was a standalone so there was lots of privacy. The second one... More

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The inn is located just off the 1 about 7 minutes from downtown Carmel. It's very rustic but in a nice way. The room we were in had been repainted and recarpeted recently. The beds were extremely comfortable. We had a small issue when we checked in but the desk person took care... More

Stayed here for business in Carmel Valley - an area primarily known for luxury vacation lodging so affordable choices are limited for the business traveler. CRI is just at the entry to the Valley so very convenient. We stayed in cottages near the back (# 24 & 25). Very easy in and out each morning and back late each evening... More

This is a nice, older motel with cute little cabins on the beautifully landscaped grounds. The seasonal Carmel River runs behind the motel, and the cabins are scattered throughout the 10 acre wooded property. The staff were very nice, and the price excellent for the area. The Wifi was free, but did not extend to our room.

I stayed in an upstairs room in a motel building. Pros: nothing Cons: 1. The door is paper thin and cannot shut completely, so you hear the tragic from the outside and people walking by. 2. The heater didn't work, I freeze to wake up in the middle of sleep, fumbled the thermometer, set the temperature to 80, put all... More

Thank you for your review. We apologize for any inconvenience. Our front desk did bring a heater to your door, but there was no answer. We left the heater outside the door and tried to call you in the room, so that you could get comfortable. We take pride in our hotel, and do our best to prevent problems from... More

We were traveling on a budget, so stayed in the Motel, not the cabins. The room was comfortable, I love the log furnishings. The staff was the friendliest and most helpful on our trip, a big thank you! My only problem was really spotty Wifi. The front desk had some helpful tips, but I believe their provider is questionable.

These adorable cabins were a delight to stay in. Charming. Lovely garden paths to take a walk on. Flowers were in bloom with hummingbirds visiting many of them. Our dogs loved staying there also. They were greeted with a water bowl, some treats and a ball. Loved our stay. Nice staff
