The location of the Pine Inn can't be beaten. I hate giving bad reviews but... The accomodations however leave much to be desired. The entry is so worn! The entry carpet looks like it has been there since about 1965. The dated decor is RED RED RED. If you like RED it wil suit you. The hallways are decorated with... More

Enjoyed the location of the inn and the rooms were quaint. Room 43 overlooked the library next door and was relatively quiet, especially if you closed the windows. The rooms depend on a ceiling fan and open windows for cooling and have vintage heaters for warmth. Has an European feel and is a historic building. (small efficient rooms) The location... More

Traveling through Carmel recently, my sexy lady and I took up lodging for the night at the fantastic Pine Inn after a delectable dinner at nearby Grasings (look for my Grasings review when you're through with this one). For starters, Pete at the front desk is an absolute riot and a true asset to this amazing hotel. Would return in... More

The rooms in this hotel appear to be very variable. We stayed in Room 29 overlooking the car park for two nights in September. We were woken at 6.20am by such noise and vibration that we assumed that road works had started in the street below. In fact the hotel kitchen’s extractor fan outside our window had just been switched... More

The Pine Inn is simply a wonderful choice for a night's sleep in Carmel. The front desk staff were professional with a warm and welcoming attitude. I had only booked the room the night before our arrival and was worried I would not be pleased...I was wrong. Room 2 is spacious and the bathroom was lovely. It is on Ocean... More

After a search of Carmel hotels, I chose the Pine Inn for its old European ambiance, unique character, and excellent dinner and breakfast package. I was not disappointed! My husband and I spent a romantic weekend in Carmel, and the Pine Inn was the perfect launching point. We walked to area shops and restaurants, the beach, and the mission. The... More

That was my first stay in this hotel. Obviously, I was very impressed with the beautiful red and gold lobby. The room I stayed in was very small but it was clean, dry and cozy. $229 (not including taxes and fees) a night is a steep price to pay, although taking in account that you get $20 per person/night coupon... We stayed for two nights. I can't wait to go back! The staff are amazing. The hotel is so quaint and so Carmel. We love having Il Fornaio connected to the hotel. The hotel offers breakfast as part of the room rate. It was very enjoyable. Il Fornaio has a terrific happy hour. You can't beat the location. It's on... More

A small old inn that feels European. Rooms small, too unless you go to their sister facility, the Tally Ho. It is across the street. The bed was acceptable but not great and the bathroom was clean and renovated but a tad cramped. Lobby reading area and staff as good as any, and the feel/character just as good as it... More

Recently we have stayed at this establishment twice; once good and the other bad. In all fairness to my followers and fellow travelers I will report to you on both. On the first evening we arrived in Carmel during and unseasonably warm afternoon. The closest parking, including the loading zone out front was two blocks away. We unloaded the car... More
