We arrived in Carmel just before 9PM and already many of the local hotels has already been completely booked. We were fortunate enough to have bumped into some fellow travellers who recommended the Pine Inn (Carmel by the Sea) and we were quite pleased for their kind suggestion. We found the hotel staff to be very friendly and accommodating. The... More

We stayed here for 2 nights on our road trip in California. This hotel was the first hotel built in Carmel, it is very quaint and traditionally decorated. The location of the hotel was 10/10, as was the restaurant and bakery. Our room was comfortable but small. There was no air conditioning which wasn't a problem for us as it... More

The Pine Inn has a beautifully decorated lobby and the building is a historic one. The location is excellent because it is directly on Ocean Ave in the heart of all the quaint restaurants and shops. The rooms are small as expected because of the age of the hotel. Decor seems a bit dated. Noise from other rooms is a... More

My husband and I only stayed there overnight but wished we had extended our stay. The hotel was very clean and we loved the old world charm. The staff were very friendly and we greatly appreciated the free room upgrade to a bigger room. The buffet breakfast at the restaurant was good. We would definitely stay there again.

After eventually finding the hotel - we arrived at night and there are no street lights - we were checked in quickly. We found the staff friendly and the buffet breakfast very nice. The beach is at the bottom of the road and there are lots of shops and restaurants/cafés on Ocean Avenue. Our room did not have air con.... More

On the spur of the moment we booked a room at the Pine Inn and found everything to be wonderful. The adjoining restaurant had delicious food in a nice milieu. We would recommend the Pine Inn as a great and charming place to stay in Carmel.

We turned up at the front desk without a reservation. Carla the lady at the desk was so great we only intended to stay one night but we were having so much fun we stayed two. Great hotel with a really good breakfast included. It was such a convenient location close to the beach and all the wonderful restaurants and... More

We picked this Inn because it allowed us to stay a Sat with no 2 night minimum. The rooms are very small, and there is a centralized heating systems (radiators) making our room about 80 while we tried to sleep. We did turn off the radiator, but we were on the third floor, so the heat rose. We had friends... More

Our one night stay was a pleasant experience. The inn is old but we enjoy the character that provides. It makes for a more memorable experience. Our room was small but well appointed, comfortable, and clean. The breakfast buffet was generous and presented in the sunny and pleasant dining room. The inn is centrally located so we were able to... More

Coming in for the evening from dinner, my wife realized she needed a certain feminine product. She discreetly inquired with the front desk clerk, and he directed us to the women's room in the hotel restaurant. No luck, sold out. So at the desk once again, we asked for directions to a nearby pharmacy. The clerk, in no mood to... More

I would like to publicly apologize to this guest for our lack of customer service. We should have known of a place nearby or made some calls to assist. We have shared this comment with the staff and they have assured me that this type of poor service will not occur again. John Lloyd General Manager More
