After a search of Carmel hotels, I chose the Pine Inn for its old European ambiance, unique character, and excellent dinner and breakfast package. I was not disappointed! My husband and I spent a romantic weekend in Carmel, and the Pine Inn was the perfect launching point. We walked to area shops and restaurants, the beach, and the mission. The... More

That was my first stay in this hotel. Obviously, I was very impressed with the beautiful red and gold lobby. The room I stayed in was very small but it was clean, dry and cozy. $229 (not including taxes and fees) a night is a steep price to pay, although taking in account that you get $20 per person/night coupon... We stayed for two nights. I can't wait to go back! The staff are amazing. The hotel is so quaint and so Carmel. We love having Il Fornaio connected to the hotel. The hotel offers breakfast as part of the room rate. It was very enjoyable. Il Fornaio has a terrific happy hour. You can't beat the location. It's on... More

A small old inn that feels European. Rooms small, too unless you go to their sister facility, the Tally Ho. It is across the street. The bed was acceptable but not great and the bathroom was clean and renovated but a tad cramped. Lobby reading area and staff as good as any, and the feel/character just as good as it... More

Recently we have stayed at this establishment twice; once good and the other bad. In all fairness to my followers and fellow travelers I will report to you on both. On the first evening we arrived in Carmel during and unseasonably warm afternoon. The closest parking, including the loading zone out front was two blocks away. We unloaded the car... More

My wife and I stayed at the Pine in for our 3rd anniversary. The staff was friendly and the lobby was elegant in an old fashioned style. The location of the hotel was very convenient. I would have given this hotel 4 stars except for two things: First, it was really noisy: The staff outside the room; the bus stop... More

Lovely hotel and the staff couldn't be nicer. We went through Carmel for one night; and asked here for accommodations. The reception gave us a wonderful room on the third floor that you could see the beach from. It is the oldest inn in Carmel but very comfortable. Loved the full service breakfast that was included too. Very helpful staff,... More

This Hotel was insanely convenient to everything Carmel has to offer. There is an Il Fornaio Italian restaurant in the hotel in case you want to dine in and it's a terrific restaurant. More importantly the bar is a great gathering spot at the end of a day of shopping and sightseeing. When you get back to your room with... More

This venerable inn in lovely Carmel was a last minute choice. We were given a room on the 3rd floor and were glad we had little luggage; there is no elevator. The room was small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the il Fornaio restaurant downstairs was a treat: bacon, scrambled eggs, French toast, juices, fruit and pastries from the... More

The oldest inn in Carmel has kept its charm for over 100 years. This is a delightful accommodation with free breakfast in the restaurant sun room surrounded by beautiful flowers where one gets a glimpse of the Pacific. Staff is welcoming & the attached Italian restaurant, bar, & pastry shop are excellent.
