Sadly we only stayed for one night as part of our road trip from San Francisco to San Diego. It's a very well preserved older hotel with character, rooms are not the biggest but for the amount of time we stayed it wasn't an issue for us. Located in the centre of Carmel surrounded by quaint shops, bars and restaurants.... More

We only stayed here one evening on our road trip to San Francisco. We had a terrific dinner across the street at Dametra Cafe which was recommended to us. Il Fornaio restaurant is within this hotel and we received free breakfast vouchers. Great variety and delicious as well. Window shopped in the village and walked to the beach the next... More

From first arrival to check out, our 1 night stay was a first rate experience. Our quaint and comfortable room lacked only the facility to make our own coffee but was otherwise of high quality. Staff were courteous and most helpful, both in the hotel and in it's adjoining restaurant, Il Fornaio. The restaurant itself was something else. One of... More

Centrally located and with a very old school boutique feel, we greatly enjoyed our stay here. Breakfast was also very good, though they didn't have an espresso machine (or advertise it at least). Tried room service for dinner, but not as good as everything else. Would come back in a heartbeat though.

Casual, but "Sophisticated", well-appointed furnishings, small "Queen" room. Even though the room we had was small, it had a very nice partially canopied bed. The bathroom is very tiny, but very nice. Even if you had a hotel room in San Francisco, it would be comparable. The whole area of Carmel is "pet friendly" with bowls of water for our... More

great location, value, service- a great bar and dining room, rooms are "old time" but well maintained, and the front desk is very accommodating. No elevator, but the third floor has the best water views, so there are some trade offs.

We selected this hotel based on location and reviews. Location within a few blocks of beach and right in heart of shops and restaurants. Saw some reviews mentioning smell--there is a distinct odor outside the hotel, but not in our room. the room was a bit small for two people, particularly if you are not a light packer. Comfortable bed... More

Nice price for Carmel. Lovely property. Very nice breakfast buffet (Mon - Fri) Great location. Room was very nice. Bathroom beautiful and appeared recently remodeled. Parking lot across the street was nice as its tough to find something in town. Just 2/3 blocks to the beach--make sure to wander down at sunset as its a nice community event.

This is my 2nd time staying here and my husbands 3rd-4th time. We keep revisiting because of the great location. It's 3 blocks from the beach and right on the main drag of shops. It's connected to Il Fornaio which is a SF Italian chain. This was our smallest room that we have ever had and the weekend we went... More

We stayed here three nights. We were on the thi d floor. The room as small but still very comfortable with two chairs and good luck to get for reading. The bathroom was new, spotless white and very functional. The only addition I would request is a bar in the tub. It is a great security feature for the older... More
