My husband chose this hotel for a little getaway and I can't say enough good things about our experience at Pine Inn! Our room had a gorgeous view of the ocean, which gave us some great sunsets. We kept the window open at night so we could hear the surf only a few blocks away. The staff was amazing, which... More

I took my mother to Carmel to celebrate her 80th birthday. Because I booked our room through a web based resource, rather than with the hotel, I was unable to request a room with two beds. When we arrived at the hotel, the room reserved for us had one queen bed. I asked if they could move us to a... More

We stayed at the Pine Inn for two nights to wrap up 2014. The location is right on Ocean Ave, right where you want to be. The parking lot fills up quickly, but we were able to get a spot at 2:30. The hotel certainly has an old school look, but we both liked it. The slanted hallways are really... More

Very Friendly staff. Made our reservation late,so didn't have great choice of rooms. We had 3 very small ones but was ok since we were 3 singles. There are no elevators but they have helpful Bellmen (Milton very helpful). The restaurant was nice.. The best part is the great location, walk all over town. The only negative was the parking. Only... More

Cool, old vintage building. Right close to the main strip. The lobby looks just like the pictures. Room was small but what do you expect? It was confusing to find the entrace with the small courtyard and the parking was difficult to find though, although there was alot available (mid-week).

This is a cool inn it has photos of the inn back in 1902. For this old of a building it is in great shape!! The lobby is fantastic!.. That being said, the rooms are small, not many outlets and appointed well. Surprisingly the bed wasn't very comfortable. With it being part of Il fornio it has great dining options... More

This property needs work. The room was filled with mold and mildew smell. It was quaint, but I woke up with a stuffy nose. The people were very nice that checked us in. The stairs were a bit much and parking was challenging when we got there.

The location of the Pine Inn can't be beaten. I hate giving bad reviews but... The accomodations however leave much to be desired. The entry is so worn! The entry carpet looks like it has been there since about 1965. The dated decor is RED RED RED. If you like RED it wil suit you. The hallways are decorated with... More

Dear Potential Guests and Past Guests, I want to respond to this review, in part, to remind everyone of the history of the Pine Inn and the efforts ownership takes to preserve the historic aspect of the hotel. The Pine Inn is listed by the city of Carmel-by-the-Sea as an historic resource. First, the Pine Inn was the 1st hotel... More

Enjoyed the location of the inn and the rooms were quaint. Room 43 overlooked the library next door and was relatively quiet, especially if you closed the windows. The rooms depend on a ceiling fan and open windows for cooling and have vintage heaters for warmth. Has an European feel and is a historic building. (small efficient rooms) The location... More
