Stopped by as a suggestion from a fellow traveler in Santa Barbara. They were sold out. But very friendly. Offered the sister Inn up the street in Carmel. Homestead Inn. We loved it and returned to Mission Ranch for dinner. It was fabulous!!! Lovely job done by all!! Don't miss it!! Be sure to see it in the day. The... More

Carmel doesnt have very many places to sit outside and enjoy the view. But you dont need many options if you go to Mission Ranch. Make sure you get there right at 5p if you want to sit outside and snack/drink. Its first come first serve and tables go quick! You can always make a dinner reservation to sit at... More

What a cute and unique place this is! The pros outweigh the cons enough to give it a 5. If you are looking for a modern place full of amenities, this is not for you. The décor is like staying at your Grandmother's or Great-grandmother's house, which is in perfect character for this former ranch/farm. Had a beautiful view from... More

I must admit when I first arrived at this hotel, I was a little taken back. I really expected more from the hotel that was owned by a movie star. The hotel was split into many outbuildings with their own individual names. My room was spacious, but it was a little tired and rustic. No air-conditioning, and no safe. But... More

Although our stay in Carmel was during one of the busiest weeks of the year, the Pebble Beach Concours, we were able to escape the chaos in our room at the Mission Ranch. Our room was in the Farmhouse, and although it was small, it had all the necessities that we required. We opened the window each night and enjoyed... More

The grounds and buildings were beautiful. Staff friendly. Breakfast included is hearty, not your typical pastries. Room was dated but comfortable. Farm house itself was beautiful, old historic. Clint Eastwood not in sight.

Carmel is a really pretty town, clearly not short of wealthy residents or visitors. It has something reminiscent of New England about it, with the main street down to the beach where we saw dolphins playing. Mission Ranch suits the place really well. Set about 5 minutes from town it is in a delightful setting with views across a pasture... More

My anniversary is in the winter, in fact, in January. Even in California, more specifically, in the Bay Area, that means, cold rain and blustering winds. Cozy Carmel is the answer. And the place to be is at Mission Ranch. Protected by the fierce ocean, here you can get cozy with a roaring fireplace and a super comfy bed. After... More

We stay at Mission Ranch every year in September. The beauty of the setting is wonderful. We stay in the Meadow Rooms which have a lovely deck with chairs overlooking the meadow. Eating in the dining room is a must. The food is great and sitting in the bar area you can enjoy the fireplace and piano bar. Ask for... More

The back porch/bar area is a great place to hang out before 5pm dinner. The prime rib was excellent and watching the sheep in the pastor was relaxing. The Mission Ranch is worth stopping in for dinner and also walking the grounds to see all the old buildings and well maintained landscape.
