This beautiful BnB is just one block from the beautiful Carmel bay/beach. We had a room for 3 (me, my husband and our 16-yr.-old son.) Our room had an outside entrance, with a lovely fire pit just outside our door! The room was large, with a king and single bed, and a (VERY) small bathroom. The beds were extremely comfortable,... The Sandpiper was an excellent choice for visiting Carmel with the location being only about 100 yards from the scenic drive/walk by the beach. The room was very pleasant and the service and breakfast very good. Parking was free and it was about a 20 minute walk to the downtown area. We slept with the window open and could hear... More

I want to share with you our experience that occurred during our stay this past weekend. My husband and I have stayed at the Sandpiper 3 out of the last 4 years to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This past weekend we celebrated 19 years married. I am writing this email with great disappointment; this past Sunday we checked out under... More

I've been going to this wonderful B&B for about 15 years. After going there again this weekend I have to say my enthusiasm for it is unchanged. It is great. Location. It is about a 20 minute brisk walk from the busy downtown area (if you are so inclined). We usually walk to dinner along the ocean and then up... More

My wife and I loved this Inn. It was by far the best one during our West Coast trip. The Inn is super clean and the staff detailed oriented. Our room (#12) was spacious, big windows, comfortable bed, and 2 individual sofas. Decor was nice. Super close to Carmel "downtown" (20 minutes walk). Only thing to keep in mind, it... More

What a find! My husband discovered this on the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend and snapped up probably the last room for Friday night (room 1). Incredibly reasonable rate for a holiday weekend in Carmel, no 2 night minimum like most of the other B&B's, great breakfast & comfy bed. The gentleman at the front desk when we first arrived... Stayed with friends for 2 nights in the rooms across the courtyard at the back of the property. Pleasantly furnished room with a skylight over the bed without a blind. We rather liked being woken by the dawn light and being able to see the weather before getting out of bed ! Quiche, among other goodies, was a pleasant change... More

No glitz, no glamor, the Sandpiper is a Carmel fixture. We had a very comfortable stay with our adult children. Great views from our rooms (7 and 11). It's a very short walk to the southern end of the Carmel main beach. Great value. Service can be a little lackadaisical but staff is friendly. Three generations of our family have... More

Been coming to this wonderful B&B for 14 years and never had a bad experience. It is quiet, no TV, great breakfast and 2 blocks from the ocean and walks on the beach. Maria the Inn keeper is very attentive but not too chatty - my husband and I like our private time when we go away but appreciate some... More

Accepted a booking with a 4 year old child. When arriving didn't allowed to stay and refused to return the $160. We were forced to leave with a 4 year old child by night, and forced to find another available hotel and without $160. Easy money. People like these must not have places to stay. Also the concierge was the... More
