Poor service, dingy accommodations. When I had not received written confirmation of reservation after a week had to call to remind clerk to send. I asked to make reservations for my wife's birthday dinner. When we arrived hotel had no record. Hotel delivered complimentary champagne for wife's birthday a day early. Very noisy. Doors slamming; music from lobby area clearly... More

Our family lives in Carmel, but the guest bedrooms were full, so we decided to stay at The Cypress Inn because we had walked by it for years and thought it would be fun to take our dog there. I read some not so great reviews, but wanted to see for myself. I would say that the reviews were fairly... More

My husband and I arrived at the Cypress Inn late Sunday night with no reservation. We had planned to stay at another hotel in Big Sur, but that didn't work out. Randy, the gent at the front desk, offered us two rooms at a reduced price since it was so late in the evening; we ended up in the Tower... More

My fiance and I and three other couples came to this hotel for valentines weekend. We each booked hotel rooms and we booked them online. We were supposed to get a romance package which was supposed to include balloons chocolates and champagne. They called and told us they didn't have any more champagne. Okay fine we can deal with that.... More

Don't stay here unless you have a dog and there is no other establishment which will accommodate you and your pets. We paid $270 each for 2 rooms on the first floor in February 2007. Although the outside facade of the hotel is charming and very promising, indoors requires updating. It is a tired, faded, shappy interior (both the lobby... More

We stayed at the Cypress Inn with our two huskies. It was a special treat for them to be able to come on a trip. This is the perfect place for pet owners. They gave us pet blankets and the huskies were allowed in the lobby and the courtyard. They had many, many admirers. We stayed in a smaller room... More

My husband, puppy and I stayed here during the long weekend after Thanksgiving. This is such a charming and fabulous inn! I should mention, however, that if you do not like animals, then this is not the place for you. We stayed here because it accepts pets and we wanted to be able to travel with our puppy, Mocha. We... Stayed here for one night on our drive from San Francisco to LA and couldn't have been made more welcome by Margaret. Most people here seemed to have their dogs with them and it was nice to meet them all cos we missed our own dogs! My 12yr old son made friends with all of them! Beds were super-comfy, breakfast...
