Almost 17 years ago we visited the Cypress Inn and vowed to return. There were no vacancies our last visit to Carmel so we didn't get there till now. It is still the coziest most convenient of hotels. The rooms are generally small; very European, but clean and lovely. The beds are comfy and one of our pet peeves is... More

You will love the ambiance, hanging out in the living room, cocktails at Terry's and the fresh popovers for breakfast (included!). The Inn is located pretty much in the middle of the village so wandering around or walking to other restaurants is easy. It is a lovely place to stay. Though we didn't imbibe, I believe that as a decanter... More

Katherine, Thank you for your wonderful review! I am glad to see you enjoyed breakfast in Terry's (including our amazing popovers) and enjoyed the four-legged friends that you encountered during your stay. The decanter in your room offers cream sherry which is complimentary... a perfect way to end your day in Carmel! We look forward to welcoming you back soon! More

An excellent get away weekend at the Cypress Inn that we enjoyed totally. We also enjoy the dog-friendly environment (even though we do not ourselves have a do anymore). The staff were very helpful to obtain dinner reservations at Casanova's.

If you are looking for a pet friendly, comfortable hotel, in a great location this is it. The staff are excellent at looking after guests & the dining / cocktails are good value in a cosy, friendly setting.

Excellent place to stay. We went to Carmel for our honeymoon 47 years ago, so Carmel holds a special p,ace in our hearts. We did not stay the Cypress Inn on our honeymoon, but we will definitely be back to this place for special occasions.

Our two German Shepherd dogs are seasoned travelers, but this is the easiest hotel to stay with dogs, which we have experienced. There were dogs, big and small, everywhere (except in the restaurant), and all were well behaved! The patio is great for lunch, drinks, dinner. Rooms could be more spacious, though.

This is a beautiful hotel in Carmel by the Sea that is ideally located in town. Walking distance to beach and downtown amenities. Stayed in the King deluxe with ocean view (not really), gas fireplace and veranda. Loved having the private veranda. It was large and perfect for having cocktails and watching the sunset through the trees. The iron bed... More

Hello Bisou4U, Thank you for staying at Cypress Inn and your recent review. From the description of your email, it sounds like you were in room 215 - which is definitely a lovely room with the four poster bed, fireplace and large veranda area; the downside of the room as you pointed out is a bit dated bathroom and wet-bar... First time visiting this hotel. Chose it because I heard it was super pet friendly and for the location in Carmel. Staff was so friendly and rooms were very nice. Enjoyed the free breakfast each morning and Terrys Lounge is a great place to relax.

Great staff, great location, great music, great for pets, and good value for the breakfast (free!). Bring earplugs - and enjoy the vintage experience. Dog guests were all well behaved. Wonderfully convenient location too.

Cool place in good location, nice music/lounge and friendly staff. A bit dated in the rooms but very acceptable. Street side can get a bit noisy if you like to sleep in. Lot's of dogs - be ok with that. We were and some were very cute and funny.
