Chosen by relatives as our hotel while we visited Carmel this Thanksgiving week, this boutique hotel, owned by Doris Day,was a small, charming, dog-friendly hotel, centrally located right in the heart of town, with the water a short--but steep, downhill walk away. Public areas were well decorated and comfortable--particularly the great room with its vaulted, timbered ceiling and large fireplace,... more

The inn was very cozy, great location, plentiful breakfast, nice atmosphere, people. However, I stayed in one of the less expensive rooms ~$150-$170, which is a good deal for being in the center of Carmel. My only complaint would be the size of the room, bath, mattress (which sank in the middle) and very thin walls. I think the thin... more

This hotel was perfect! The service was great, yappy hour was fun (included dogs), rooms a little small, but the location was to die for. We were within walking distance of almost everything we wanted to do. Would recommend this to anyone. more

I have loved this Inn for years. I always brought friends here for a drink at the bar, but in the last 2 years, have stayed there 3 times. First time, peaceful and quiet. Second time, my room was on the stairway to the top floor, and the lobby/bar noise did not stop at 11pm. People were talking loudly on... more

Having visited Carmel numerous times over the years, I was delighted recently to be able to finally stay at the Cypress Inn. My daughter and I were driving Hwy 1, and I called ahead feeling sure that it would be fully booked as it had been in the past. Luckily there had been a cancellation. We had a wonderful room,... more

We love the ambience at the Cypress Inn, but the customer service is completely missing. When one calls to make a reservation, they are told to call back, there is no one to help them, on a consistent basis. The manager in the bar, whom we have known for years, doesn't give longtime customers the time of day to greet... more

Traveled with spouse and dog. The hotel and staff are quite nice and accomodating. No issues there. The lounge area is OK, however there is very limited seating inside the lounge, resturant area if you are with your dog. Outside is OK unless of course the weather does not permit. We stayed in Rm 106 2 Double beds. The room... more

Excellent hotel. Nice rooms and staff. We also love the restaurant and bar. The most dog friendly place I have ever stayed. Our room by the stairs was a little noisy in the morning, but not a big deal. more

This Inn was incredible! Super nice staff. Wonderful restaurant. Super cozy bed and linens. The room was tiny but the cozy bed made up for it. (I would have given the room a 5 star if it was a little bigger) We had our dog with us and it was fun seeing so many other people with theirs too. We... more
