We traveled to Carmel and stayed at the Cypress Inn for some days. Staff were very friendly (Khamis and Vicente, among all the rest). Dinner was excellent. On our next trip to Carmel we'll return to this hotel.

If you don't stay at the Cypress Inn, at least go there for a Sunday brunch. Great service, food, and music. A friend/fan of Doris Day had recommended it. And we totally enjoyed our Brunch and looking around at Doris memorabilia.

My first stay at the Cypress Inn must have been 40 years ago. I was a small boy when my family chose to spend the weekend in Carmel and we shared a room at this storied hotel. Over the years, we went many subsequent times and each time it was like returning to an old friend. Its classic elegance, location... More

I'm not kidding. I know I can get pretty sniffy about hotels, but honestly, this one is the best. I can bring my dogs. The rooms are lovely. The staff is ALWAYS a joy. The food, really nice. Okay look..I am jaded yes because I have stayed here multiple times with my dogs/kids and there is not a thing that... More

So much fun if you are a dog lover! We stopped for appetizers and drinks with both of our little dogs. Food and drinks were excellent..we had a Martini & Manhattan & shared some soup & sandwich . People were so friendly. Lot of locals stop by with their pooches. We will return! We didn't stay here but will next... More

We wanted to go to the town where Doris Day lives and choose this beautiful, full of character hotel. We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived at their front gate. Checking in was a delight with the help of Randy and Brian. We received a complimentary upgrade to a gorgeous room! All the Doris Day memorabilia hangs... More

Mid week at the end of October we stay for 2 nights in a ground floor room (112 right off the court yard and on the corner). It was an expensive room. The front desk took 20% off the price. We had a dog (an additional $30 per night) and the room was perfect for getting right out the door.... More

My wife is a huge Doris Day fan and what better place to spend a few days than her hotel, Cypress Inn? I must admit some initial trepidation after reading some reviews of the dogs who frequented the hotel with their owners. My fear was that we would be frequently awakened by dogs barking, whining and yipping throughout the night.... More
