We had a fabulous stay at Carmel Garden Inn. Julian and Dennis were extremely friendly and kind. They provided detailed recommendations on the best attractions and restaurants to explore within downtown area. We chose the Orchid room and it was far above what we expected. Beautifully decorated with a cozy fireplace, garden view, and extremely comfortable bed. I could spend... More

When i met Dennis more than ten years ago, he was in the garden of an Inn I had sold recently. He and I connected immediately. Susan and I bought an Inn in Carmel in 2006 and Dennis joined us as Innkeeper. We sold it in 2009 and in 2013, our collective dream came true. Carmel Garden Court Inn (as... More

We stayed in the Carmel Garden Inn with our Corgi, which was great since the room had a patio where our Corgi was able to hang out when he was too tired from running around town. The owners were really great people and had a dog bed and snacks ready for him. Our room had a wood burning fireplace, which... More

Having had standard poodles for most of my life, one of the principal reasons Susan and i bought the Inn was the gardens and the five private gated patios. As you point out in your review, these two amenities afford a really quality alternative to just having a room at an Inn within which you and your pet are confined... More

My wife and I, along with our three standard poodles, had the pleasure of staying at the Carmel Garden Inn on Thanksgiving day 2014. We had decided a few weeks earlier to escape Northern California and take the dogs to the beach (our youngest had not been yet). Julian was wonderful from the very beginning of the process. Great communication... More

Your review brings a lot of joy into our hearts, especially at this holiday season. Susan and I have had standard poodles for the past fifteen years and i raised three litters over the last forty years of silver standards. As you mentioned, the gated patios give our canine friends so much open space in which to play in the... More

First off, let me say that my boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay at the Inn. We were just on a weekend getaway and needed a clean, affordable place. We stayed in the Iris room. The room is small but comfortable and thankfully has a DVD player and flat screen tv (they have wireless internet but my laptop didn't want... More

Thank you for alerting us about our missing smoke detector and changing the way we inspect our rooms for guests. We've not bothered to look for them because they are always there but apparently they can disappear. Iris, in fact was missing its' detector and the screws to hold it were in place as described. We immediately checked all the... More

In October 2014, my wife and I stayed at the Carmel Garden Inn for 5 nights for a reunion with 5 couples. This was an ideal setting for our gathering. The owners, Julian and Susan are very friendly, helpful and did a number of special things for our group to help make the reunion memorable. Our room was the Heather,... More

Your words reflect our feelings as well...you and your group made our fall complete! What fun to share with you and enjoy our Inn and our wonderful little village. As i mentioned, we are going to promote groups of folks seeking a larger common area and gardens than most B&Bs afford. Also, because we only have ten rooms, we can... More

Spent a night in their Lavender Room which boasts a private patio, a cute kitchenette/sitting area, king bed, wood-burning fireplace...First of all, if you are going for a romantic get-away, this room is a great choice: you can snuggle up with a lovely fire (all set and ready to go when you arrive) and the frig allows you to keep... Your word "perfect" gives us a lot to live up to. But know that having your review and having all of us read it, says we are succeeding in our efforts to provide a really fine quality experience, not just a good room in which to stay. We love our patio units as you have said. Large roomy and affording... More

This is an older property, converted apartments. The rooms are cramped and most of the furnishings are old (not "antique" old, just old), other than the bed which was new (and VERY nice, thank you). Breakfast was nice but there was little variety. If you didn't like what they made for you each morning, you had fruit and hard boiled... More

We really appreciate your review. We also certainly agree with the quality of the beds.
