I have stayed here before. I was very impressed when I opened the door of my room and saw a major upgrade. Not your typical dreary Motel 6 decor. Bright and shiny - looked like a European Boutique hotel. Front desk was very pleasant and professional. My only knock on the place is that is was noisy at times.

We opted for Motel 6 because we unexpectedly needed to overnight in Carlsbad and rates in the area are high. Location is convenient and there is a plaza-mall/grocery store just down the road. The staff were all friendly and the setting with rooms facing into the pool is not bad. Maybe it's a motel 6 thing, but the rooms are... More

We stayed here last week one night, and just checked in for another few days. Getting a room key turned out to be quite difficult this afternoon. Here's how the office portion of the stay has gone: Had a reservation, got here at one, assumed that we could get in--or at least a better room--earlier than the 3 o'clock check... More

I read other reviews on another Motel 6 closer to this one on the north side, we ended up staying here because of the good reviews from others. We were not disappointed, no inconveniences at all. The rooms have been updated, they are not luxury rooms, but enough to make it a good night stay. It is close to the... More

Stayed here for four nights recently while attending a conference at the Hyatt Aviara. Got four nights for less than the price of one at the conference venue. Saved our money for the outlet mall! Our rooms were ready when we arrived early afternoon. Upon going out a little bit later on, there was an ambulance, fire truck and four... More

I made the mistake of trying to go to San Diego while ComicCon was going on, and this was the only hotel I could get, and the only room I could get was their 'accessible' room, so my review can only speak to that room and the motel in general. I'm pleased to say they exceeded my expectations. Room was... More

It's .55 miles from the beach! We took the Coaster to downtime Carlsbad and took a cab back which was about $17, the coaster stopped running at 11:58pm. The room was clean and updated from the motel 6 I used to know. It's a basic room, no frills. Front desk was awesome, especially Rogelio. Grounds were clean and nice. Pool... More

Highly recommended motel, but just a few key notes to help you make your decision... Pros: • MOTEL – The location, you just can’t beat it. 10 minutes’ walk to the beach, 10 minutes’ walk to several places to eat and shop (drug store/grocery store). There is an ice machine and vending machine next to the office, along with a... More

We were evacuated for the Cocos ie San Marcos Fire - this was only place we found that would take dogs. The good - appears to have been recently renovated, hard floors (think faux wood which is fine) The bad - although we were really lucky to get a room due to the 10's or thousands evacuated, I am not... We checked out our standby, Palomar Inn and found they have upgraded which means more $$$. Since it also eliminated continental breakfasts as well and NO senior discount it would have been $70 plus TAX! Up the 5 to Carlsbad we called Motel 6 and found a room w/ 2 beds, great TV, WiFi , but no breakfast for $65... More
