To gain admittance to the pool, it felt like you had to go through airport security. The attendant was rude and unkind. We had stayed at this resort 2 months prior and both of our children had loved the pool area, using all the water slides for hours. I took my wife and my 6 year old son to San Diego for a week vacation; beach, Legoland, tourism, etc. We typically stay at Westin or Four Seasons(if we can find a good deal). While the resort is beautiful and kids really enjoy the pool area, we found this paradise to have too many unexpected surprises. First, be prepared for a surprise $34 additional fee per day, which add to $238 in a week. This was our first visit to La Costa and we were very pleased with everything. The staff went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful. La Costa is simply AWESOME! I travel a lot and normally stay at 5 star hotels, however, La Costa defines 5 star living!
