The pool was clean and inviting. Wish I could say the same about the room. I have no problem with a hotel being outdated or old; I do have a problem with unclean. The exposed box spring of our bed was covered in ugly stains, and with paper thin sheets, it made for an unnerving night's sleep. We covered the... more

The hotel is badly in need of some renovation on its exterior. The room we were given looked to have been given a makeover in the not too distant past. Comfortable but dont expect Hyatt standards even though the price is comparable to much higher quality hotel. Poor value. more

So I booked this place on a whim because it was cheaper than staying in Carmel. This place isn't horrible but its nothing like the cute pictures I seen of the rooms online. I had room 305 (I believe). It was dark & dank I don't know how else to put it. Once I walked in I was overwhelmed with... more

This was our third visit to this hotel, and we enjoyed it very much. The continental breakfast is great, the room was clean, and the location is very good. The hotel is up on a hill, and it is very quiet. more

I was very pleased with my stay at the Capitola Inn. Since the last time I was there they have made great changes. The upgrades in the bathrooms (tile on floors and counter tops) was a great upgrade from the tired vinyl that was there before. I loved the expanded continental breakfast and their coffee machine is "to die for"!!!!!... more

We just returned from 2 nights at the Capitola Inn. The reviews had said it had been improved, but maybe they didn't have our room. This place needs major work in all areas: decks do not appear stable and are filthy; bathroom has mold, a shower that is just a trickle of water, and a toilet that keeps running; bedroom... more

Much improved since last time we stayed there! Rooms are now clean and updated, pool has new decking, breakfast is great with a wonderful espresso machine, staff were very friendly and helpful and the price much better than anything else in Capitola. If you like to listen to partying all night and pay double the price-- sleep in the village,... more

I recently spent 4 lovely days in Capitola-by-the-Sea. I stayed, once again, in The Capitola Inn and I am happy to relate that the Inn is being remodeled and improvements are underway. Two examples of improvements I saw were the new wall-to-wall carpeting and an espresso machine in the breakfast room. The room rates continue to be reasonable. The inn... more

Stayed for four days Thursday - Sunday. The service was great, very helpful. The grounds were kept, clean and tidy as well as the room. It had new carpets and bedding. The pool was very clean and warm. The continental breakfast had an AWESOME espresso machine! They served a variety of muffins and bagels, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, and waffles.... more

Stayed at the Capitola Inn over Labor Day weekend. The location is convenient, with a grocery story and drug store within walking distance. The beds were comfortable, but the rooms were sort of run down looking. The bathroom had the most pathetic excuse for a shower, with just a trickle of water and an awful screeching noise. The room we... more
