I found this place because I was volunteering on Lesvos and wanted somewhere near but not too near to the Moria refugee camp. Although the restaurant was closed for the winter, Iannis had kept the rooms open and serviced for volunteers and travellers. His emails were warm and trusting. He didn't ask for a deposit for my two week stay.... More

One of our business friends was staying at this hotel with his family, and by his invitation,we have used mostly beach facilities of this house during a day and also checked the rooms and eating alternatives of the hotel.İt is pity that we have known this hotel at the end of our stay in Mytilene as we could stay here... Very peaceful. Very accommodating. Simple style. Iannis and his family will do anything to help make a great experience. Springboard at the end of private jetty. Make sure you make friends with JAnet in the bar... What a star. Ask Iannis to get a hire car 30Eu a day and explore the other side of the island. A must visit... More

Back to Votsala but the first time we've visited in the spring. As usual fantastic welcome from Iannis, Daphne and all the staff who had a super programme laid out for Easter. No local tavernas open yet so more meals available at the hotel. Just finished the Easter programme with a whole lamb spit rosted over hot coals whee the... More

Would you like a relaxing holiday? a warm friendly atmosphere? eating breakfast under olive trees? swimming in a calm and warm sea? a short walk down the beach to tavernas? Then go to Votsala. We’ve been been going every year for 10 years. And we love it!

I stayed here in 2006 so this review is somewhat dated (sorry I lied in the when did you travel question), however my experience was awesome. It is owned by a family who summers there. The feel is very familial. They sometimes have meals in the main lobby/house area where guests of the hotel can dine. The food was very... More

This is not a hotel, this is a magic experience that is rare to find… You should go there alone, ridden of all the baggage, material and immaterial, and rediscover the meaning of life. Happiness is to eat the homemade delicacies for breakfast, outdoors under the olive trees, gazing at the endless Aegean blue and hearing Maria Callas singing. Happiness... More

We stayed at Daphnis & Chloe, an annex of the Hotel Votsalah for three weeks. We experienced a most warm hearted welcome and throughout our stay Daphne and Iannis and their team saw to it to make our vacation for us and the kids a very pleasant one. It is nice to hang out at the sea front but there... More

We have travelled a lot around in Greece, both on islands as well as on the mainland, and now we have found a new favourite hotel in Greece : Hotel Votsala on Lesvos. If you dream of having your breakfast under an olive tree close to the sea - after having filled your tray in the diningroomarea with a good... More
