It is impossible not to fall in love with this place. Set a short drive away from Tsumago within the mountains, Takiminoie was a stay like no other we've had in Japan. The hosts were extremely hospitable and communicated with us despite our limited ability to converse in... More

Truly beautiful and breathtaking. Waterfall, beautiful food, onsen under the waterfall, delightful hosts. We splashed out, as it was quite expensive for us but it was worth every penny. unforgettable and sooo peaceful!

Taikinoie (also known as Takimi Onsen) is the most amazing authentic Japanese cultural experience in the form of onsen and lodging that I have experienced. Getting there is half the fun as it is set on a quiet mountain road off the main highway in the Kiso Valley. In the area are some great historic and cultural attractions and amazing... More
