Uma Paro has to be one of my favourite hotels, which is saying something since I have stayed in quite a few. I think it’s the whole ambiance and setting that sets it apart. Bhutan is such a beautiful and friendly country and the Paro valley gorgeous that staying in a Bhutanese style hotel in the woods made it even... more

After trekking for a few days this was like going to heaven. The hotel is beautifully envisioned in traditional bhutanese style as opposed to the bland bungalows of the Aman hotels. The pool and the yoga room are zen perfect. The food is delicious even if service is sometimes uneven (although always friendly). We did have the advantage of staying... more

Having stayed at the excellent Taj (beautiful rooms and top notch service) then the Aman Punakha (beautiful location and very good and friendly staff) - I had high expectations for this last hotel which somehow were not quite met. Had I paid less or not had good experiences at the other hotels (and had cold rooms elsewhere...) - then I... more

We were there in early Oct with clear blue sky and they say Oct is the best time to go for hiking. We stayed in a villa at Uma. There are also rooms which looked very cosy, located in the main building. There are only 3 international hotels in Bhutan. Como, Arman and Taj. Went past Taj which is situated... more

Beautiful setting, tasteful design which blends in with the surroundings. Clean, comfortable rooms, some with great views. Small, personal hotel. Great food - a real plus in Bhutan. Wonderful staff. Not much of a "business centre" but no one on our group needed more. Lovely pool, great spa. Lots of thoughtful touches like walking sticks at the entrance. This hotel... more

2 - Did not meet my expectations for the price. Firstly let me explain my score. I believe in actually using the 5 point scale. Unlike many reviewers i don't dish out 5's for every hotel I stay at - it has to be exceptional. A good hotel is a 3. Uma is a lovely hotel - it has been... more

I spent a few nights at the Uma Paro in July and would definitely go back and highly recommend it to anyone. From the moment you arrive and breath in the relaxing scent from the oil burners to the views over Paro valley from your room, you truly are in another world. The stand out of the hotel was the... more

My Father and I recently stayed at the Uma Paro hotel in Paro, Bhutan as part of an eight day trip through the country. It proved to be without a doubt the most spectacular and most exotic trip we had ever taken. Between us we have been to many odd parts of the world but Bhutan ranks as the most... more

Bhutan is wonderful and one of the best destinations on our 3 month round the world trip, and from the comments from other guest who stayed in the Aman, Uma Paro must be one of the best hotels in Bhutan. However that is no reason to let some standards slip. We almost didn't come here because it was such a... more

I stayed at this Hotel on my first trip to Bhutan. It is simply wonderful While the Aman Hotels in Bhutan seem to enjoy the best reputation, I woudl chose this hotel any time over the Amankora Paro. The location is nice and the staff were simply wonderful. Highly recommended. more
