We stayed at 5 hotels in a week long trip, and this was the one we liked the best. While the decor seems pretty formal and dated, the rooms were a good size and comfortable. Breakfast was really good (no paper plates and plastic wear here). Lots of places to eat in the area.

Pros: Great room Gorgeous interior (exterior is so so) They had a very good free breakfast I was traveling with my wife and my 1 year old and we spent over an hour just exploring the artwork and interior of the hotel -- anything that keeps my son occupied is a big plus in my book.

We were pleasantly surprised at the remarkably spacious rooms, and the nice overall look. A couple of further improvements and I'd rate it a 5/5. The etching on the front glass doors indicates this used to be a Best Western - probably one of the good ones, The pluses: All rooms are decent sized, with many that are luxuriously large -... More

This hotel is a mix of different country themes, British, German, Italian - kind of quirky but a great hotel. The rooms are large with extra large marble bathrooms and the rooms are very clean. The breakfast is always nice. We have stayed here 3 times for a few days each time in the last 2 years and enjoyed the... More

What a wonderful surprise! Needed to spend one night while visiting friends. This is a beautifully decorated hotel with European charm. A helpful staff, large room, clean, comfortable and an excellent breakfast. Will stay again.

While we were in California visit family and friends I checked my parents in this this hotel and it was beautiful. The price is great for what you get. The staff was so nice and it was very clean and comfortable. I've lived in the Bay Area my whole life and never stay here until after we moved away. Now... More

I do business in the area once a week and always looking for a value. The Bristol has decent rates for the area. It's a British themed hotel with portraits of the Queen and other royalty, though other portraits are continental rather than British....then they have all these nude statues, greek (venus del milo), italian (david), etc placed throughout the... Having read some of the previous comments nthis hotel I was quite worried when I was booked in to spend a full week there. The comments on the beds were a particular worry as I have a back problem. The awful soft spongy matteress turned out to be memory foam toppers on a good firm mattress. The room was large... More

This was the most affordable hotel in the outrageously priced Silicon Valley area. Room was clean, comfortable, and quiet even though the hotel is located on one of San Jose's busiest streets.. Staff a little aloof, but could be called business-like. Funky decorations -- statues, paintings. Definitely a boutique style hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights and it was a good value for the area of higher priced hotels in San Jose, CA. The decor is an interesting mixture of Victorian and Florencian with marble statutes of David, crystal chandeliers etc. The hotel has a great location close to the airport (15 mins. away), the Pruneyard shopping and...
