Despite having a prepaid Expedia reservation from 8 months previous, we arrived to be told there was no record of the reservation and then hotel was full. Once I showed a copy of the confirmation we were put into a Lakeview room where we remained for our stay. Many thanks go to Zelmira at reception for all that she did... More

Getting there means taking a really bumpy gravel road up the mountain for about 30min, which I personally really enjoy, but some people probably won't. Also know that the entrance of the nature park Rincon la Vieja is a 45-60min drive from the lodge, mostly on a bumpy unpaved road! I have to say, my first impression wasn't all that... More

We stayed here recently and used as a base to visit Rincon Volcano park and San Rosa. We also enjoyed the hanging bridges etc.. .that the hotel have on offer, saw the toucans, monkey's, lots of other birds and mammals. Really enjoyed it. Spa is lovely particularly if you go by horseback, then have the mud bath and a massage.... More

Great trails around the lodge to go exploring. High canopy walk is excellent giving great views and close to the wildlife. There are zip wires for the more adventurous. Food reasonably good. Staff friendly. Nice rooms with wi fi.

We stayed overnight at this little place. It was difficult to find at night, but we eventually made it. Our room was cozy and well furnished. The next day we got to appreciate the scenery around the lodge. It was beautiful! We walked around the grounds and took a walk into the forest to check out some trails. You could... More

We did not stay here, however, we did do one of our excursions here. We did the waterslide, ziplining, horse ride, and hot springs. The zip line was so much fun and so beautiful, but I was too scared to go by myself (I'm a big baby) so our guide was super sweet and went with me on every zip... More

Got there in the dark (roads werent too bad compared to some of the other ones) Had supper ( the food wasnt anything special) But the staff were really nice, and the room was nice and clean. We didn't stay at Buena Vista but had a day there doing the zip lining, waterslide and hot springs. The waterslide is intense to say the least, but good to have done it! Zip lines fantastic, high out over the valleys. The hot springs and mud v much enjoyed by the ladies. A great spot and a better feeling for... More

The Buena Vista Lodge offers many attractions. It was about a 2 hour drive from Tamarindo to do the waterslide. I wouldn't have minded booking a room there, but we planned for just a half day trip. The cost of the slide is $15 for 3 times. It was definitely a rush and I would do it again in a... More

It was a bit of a drive up towards the volcano but it was perfect once we got there. Nice accommodations with comfortable beds and roomy bathrooms and showers. Take the horseback ride up to the spa where you can have a steam, a mud bath, and after rinsing away the volcanic mud, swim and soak in numerous pools of... More
