If you expect ritzy accommodations, turn around now. This hotel was a pleasant mix of modern day accommodations and traditional Costa Rican lifestyle. Our room was clean, had air conditioning and cable television, and a nice small bathroom. The fact that you could glance out the bathroom windows and see horses being moved around by employees was both comforting and... More

I was traveling with a group of travel agents and we were checking out hotels in Costa Rica. My first impression was "oh my God, do we have to stay here?" but this quickly changed. it is a real working hacienda, not a luxury 5 star hotel. What it lacks in luxury it makes up for it in charm and... More

Thanks Likit7848 for reviewing Guachipelin on TA. As you were mentioning on your review, it is a working cattle ranch. We are more into natural attractions and knowing the culture. Things like waterfalls , hot springs and marimba music are things that you can experience at Guachipelin. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at Guachipelin. We hope that... More

After over 2 weeks traveling, absorbing and utterly enjoying the Costa Rican lifestyle we decided to have a change of pace from the surf and sand we had planned our trip around to visit Rincon NP on a friend's suggestion to see the abundant flora and fauna the park holds. Instead of paying the ridiculous transport fee and 4 hour... More

My boyfriend and I decided to end our trip in Costa Rica closer to the Liberia airport so we thought that ending it at the Rincon de la Vieja would be a good choice. The flora/fauna was the main attraction for us. Getting here was a stressful nightmare that ended in us paying $300 for a private transfer up with... More

We stayed here with our two daughters (6&7). The room was nice, quiet (last one in the row) and clean. It was fun to do the adventure tour with ziplining, horsebackriding and serpentarium (kids were too small for running). The pool was very cold and small. We didn't like the food. It's really basic and there are no other options... More

Great for a couple of days stay, the farm is big and you can do all sorts of activities (horse riding, tubbing, zip lining, etc). Rooms are ok, beds are small but pretty comfortable and there is air conditioning... Not too important for me but I know that it is essential for many people. Liberia is only 20 minutes away,... It is very good to stay couple of days. We got welcome refresh. The hotel has its own hot spring (Rio Negro), free for the guest. They have their own adventure tours. The landscaping was very beautiful. Wake up by the birds' song every morning. Only 3 mile to the Rincon de la Vieja national park. You do not need... More

We rented a car from tamarindo for a day trip to the Rincon de la Vieja park for some family adventure. Had tour reservations at la hacienda but arrived late. Still had time for zip lines with rappelling and rock climbing in the canyon, tubing down the perfect river with class I and II rapids, and drove to mineral hot... More

We stayed here for 2 nights / 3 days and that was perfect. The room was fine and clean however a little dated. The pool is nothing to get excited about but a great place to have a quick swim. The overall facilities are fantastic. We did the One Day adventure Pass which had us on multiple activities, horse riding... More

This was the first stop of our Costa Rican honeymoon. Hacienda served as a good launching pad for outdoor activities (hiking was awesome!). However, I think we would have been bored if we had stayed beyond the 2 days. Our room was very nice and clean- the wind was so loud at night it kept us up though. We were... More
