The hotel is mediocre, but offers amazing activities. We stayed here during our tour of Costa Rica And Nicaragua. The hotel is very basic. The activities that the hotel offered are great: horseback riding, ziplining, hot springs, and 'mud bath.' If you're looking for a place to get away from everything this is perfect.

As all the reviews mention, this property is located in a remote location up a mountain. We booked a car to pick us up from the airport through the hotel, and although a longish ride, it was not as bad as some of the other reviews mentioned. We were in a small sedan and the ride was fine and what's... More

Stayed here for one night as part of our Monkey Tour of Costa Rica/Nicaragua. The hotel is in an amazing, remote location - with tons of wildlife around. The activities onsite are amazing. We were served a buffet lunch upon arrival (delicious!) followed by horseback riding (great!) and then ziplining. Everyone in our group said this was intense and amazing.... More

We stayed here for part of a tour during our honeymoon. They definitely know how to treat their honeymooners! We had a amazing villa that I could have easily lived in and their resturant is very romantic with live music. I can't wait to come back.

The first impression was the right one : Impressive but posh The hotel is remote and access is not easily. Not great location if you want to visit Rincon de la Vieja. Re the rooms, they looked great but the A/C did not work. Then no hot water and finally the wooden separation between the communicating room was not sliding.... More

my family returned to Costa Rica last week and found this amazing resort tucked ino the mountains. The resort is truly beautiful! Well maintained lanscapes spread across the rolling hills, pool, hot srings and hot mud areas. Cars are restricted to the lower parking area. This adds to peace and tranquility of the resort. My family stayed in a villa... More

We stayed here only one night, but enjoyed horseback riding, zip lining, the natural sauna, mud baths and mineral pools. The property is gorgeous. It would be a great spot for a weekend retreat. I would not recommend a long stay here due to the seclusion from any other restaurants/shops/etc... The room itself was a bit drab and the restaurant... More

We stayed here for two nights during our trip to Costa Rica. I loved Hotel Borinquen and our positive experiences here were so great that they almost made me forget about the negative points. For that, I almost gave Hotel Borinquen a 5. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it. First of all, this hotel is... More

And I mean the beds in the bungalows. We had a very good experience in Borinquen, and all the good comments are true. Only we are a family of 4 with "kids" of 19 and 21 and the beds (I guess 140 cm - referred to as double) are a bit too small for two persons to be comfortable. And... More
