We were lucky enough to stay here four nights in #204. Very well maintained massive cabins, immaculate grounds, courteous staff & great food. The hot mineral springs were awesome, although some of the decking in that area are in need of repair. The weather the first two days was perfect, then rain and windy the last two...to be expected. The... More

Great hotel! bit of a long haul down the dirt roads to get there but well worth it! Make sure you have an SUV! Dinner at the restaurant was EXCELLENT! A bit pricey but I felt it was worth it! We rented the Junior Suite for the 2nd time and loved it! Its very private, had amazing view and loved... More

This hotel is away from everything, 30 good minutes of drive on an unpaved road. Very calm, of course, and rooms are spacious. The pool area is excellent, as is the geothermal sauna (a cabin right on top of a geothermal geyser!!!), and the bud bath + super hot thermal pools are very funny. The Rincon de la Vieja park... We were so excited upon arrival as this place looked amazing and we were taken to our villa by a little buggy. The detached villas look lovely from the outside but inside ours was slightly disappointing as it was quite dark and basic. The resort is quite hilly but really picturesque. The swimming pool with swim-up bar was really lovely... More

I went through a deck in the spa area which was rotten, ripping the front of my knee open. This got infected and I needed an operation when I returned to the US and I'm still recovering. The hotel has not responded to any of my emails. Don't let this happen to you - stay away - go somewhere else.

We drove here from Coco Beach ourselves in a rental - spent $80 pp for the Zipline - which was awesome - 12 lines - highest I have ever been on. The horseback ride (approx 25 minutes) was probably really good but I am quite nervous on a horse so didn't really enjoy that part - which was necessary to... More

Like others, I have mixed reviews about Borinquen. It is VERY remote and hard to get to. Don't think you will be running into town for anything. The resort was nice but we got bored. There is only so much time you can spend at the pool, in the sauna and smearing volcanic mud all over yourselves. Food was good,... More

We stayed here for one night as a part of a tour. The hotel grounds were very nice and well maintained. As it is on the mountain side, you can expect to hear a lot of wild life and insects while you're in your room. We didn't get to enjoy the hotel during the day, but did enjoy the hot... More

This hotel is amazing, the grounds alone is breathtaking! I stopped at this hotel as a part of a tour I was on (monkey tours costa rica). This hotel is pretty isolated. What you see if what you get, it didn't seem to be anything around for miles and this I liked. If you want complete peace and quiet, this is... More

My husband & I stayed at Hotel Borinquen after a week in Tamarindo for our son's wedding. It was the icing on the cake for us after a busy week of wedding festivities. We had a wonderful driver who drove us up to the Hotel & took us back in to Liberia after our 2day stay. Our cabin had breath-taking... More
