Borinquen is a hidden jewel of a resort on the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. It is located on a neutral geothermal area. The grounds are beautiful. The staff is incredibly nice. The main lodge is lovely with excellent food. We enjoyed the steam and the hot mineral pools. We also did an ATV ride and we did the zip... More

What a wonderful place to visit on our first trip ever to Costa Rica. The grounds were exquisitely kept...we saw the enormous upkeep needed to keep a resort in shape when it's in the middle of a moist, damp rain forest and they were on top of everything. Our bungalow was romantic and well kept with so many little touches... More

My family booked two nights at Borinquen Mountain Resort for 11/23/14 to 11/25/14. I booked a Junior Suite. I booked this room in 2/2014. In August of 2014 I was charged to my American Express card not only the Junior Suite but also 2 bungalow rooms which I did not want. Beginning in 2/2014, I called as well as emailed... More

If here do not miss the magic beef fajitas with the awesome EDUARDO chef at the hot ponds snack bar, they are superb !!! Also the Burritos where also great, the vegetarian sandwich was one very good one here, To be honest once we tried Eduardo's cooking down in the Snack bar on day one we decided we have all... More

We were lucky enough to stay here four nights in #204. Very well maintained massive cabins, immaculate grounds, courteous staff & great food. The hot mineral springs were awesome, although some of the decking in that area are in need of repair. The weather the first two days was perfect, then rain and windy the last two...to be expected. The... More

Great hotel! bit of a long haul down the dirt roads to get there but well worth it! Make sure you have an SUV! Dinner at the restaurant was EXCELLENT! A bit pricey but I felt it was worth it! We rented the Junior Suite for the 2nd time and loved it! Its very private, had amazing view and loved... More

This hotel is away from everything, 30 good minutes of drive on an unpaved road. Very calm, of course, and rooms are spacious. The pool area is excellent, as is the geothermal sauna (a cabin right on top of a geothermal geyser!!!), and the bud bath + super hot thermal pools are very funny. The Rincon de la Vieja park... We were so excited upon arrival as this place looked amazing and we were taken to our villa by a little buggy. The detached villas look lovely from the outside but inside ours was slightly disappointing as it was quite dark and basic. The resort is quite hilly but really picturesque. The swimming pool with swim-up bar was really lovely... More

I went through a deck in the spa area which was rotten, ripping the front of my knee open. This got infected and I needed an operation when I returned to the US and I'm still recovering. The hotel has not responded to any of my emails. Don't let this happen to you - stay away - go somewhere else.
