We stayed 2 nights in this hotel during our trip through Costa Rica. The hotel is very well located; about a 5 minutes’ drive from the Panamerican 1, fifteen minutes from Liberia and 25 minutes to the Las Pailas Ranger Station of the Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Checking in and out went smooth and friendly. The room was... More

I stayed at this hotel, for 2 nights as part of my tour of Costa Rica, its located about 20 mins by car from the nearest town Liberia, with no shops or restaurants within walking distance, a taxi into town costs between $10& $15 each way. Appearance- The rooms are set out in semi detached Eco lodges throughout the grounds... More

The place is really nice and relaxing. The rooms are comfortable and clean. It's very close to Liberia, so you can go out at night and visit the city for dinner. We did tubing and it was really fun. Take some bug repellent just in case, there were a lot of mosquitoes. El lugar es lindo y relajante. Los cuartos... More

We had came to Flamingo Beach in The Guancaste region for a destination wedding. We wanted to spend some time inland after a week of being on the beach. We had booked Canyon de la Vieja through Expedia. We were a little nervous about the resort, because the photos posted made the pool look fairly small and had heard a... More

Nice spacious bungalows with cute porches outside. My bungalow, nr. 10, was no twinbungalow as most of the others were, and had a great view of the lovely poolarea. Wifi worked quite well. The room did have a coffee maker (but no coffee refills) but unfortunately no fridge. This would have been very comfortable due to the fact that there's... More

I booked this through a touroperator in Costa Rica. Single rooms were big enough, airconditioned, big porch which we used frequently to sit down and relax. Swimming pool is nice to cool down, couple of wooden beds out there, not really comfortable to lie down for longer time (okay for me though). Plenty of birds to spot. Restaurant serves good... More

We stayed here when on a hiking holidayed part of a group. Loved the informal set up of the rustic cabins despite the unwelcome visitor of a scorpion!! Nightjar and squirrels watched/ heard from comfy bed.

I had finished hiking in Las Pailas section of Rincon de la Vieja and decided to stop. I was charged $80.00 for the night. Lodging consists of one half of separate cabins.Big rooms. Excellent food in the restaurant. Very friendly staff. Lots of guest activities. Self contained community. The place was crawling with birders from the U.S. when I was... More

Imagine my surprise showing up with a group of 6, thinking we had two rooms and finding out that the place was "full". We called our tour operator Alan and he tried to argue with them. They insisted the reservation was for the night before, even though he had an e-mail to the contrary. We were exhausted and run down... More

The lodge is a large property along the Colorado River canyon.  Rooms are located in outbuildings, with one or two rooms per cabin. Rooms are basic, rustic but met our needs. There were no amenities in the room other than furniture and private bath. Each room has an outdoor sitting area with two chairs. The pool facility and bar were... More
