Nov 3, 2009 | Trip type: Couples

Spent 2 nights the last week of October at the Cambria Pines Lodge and came away with the feeling that it was better than advertised. We had gotten what we thought to be a good price online for a large suite with forest view and was more than pleased with the room. Our room was upstairs in a building of... more

Went to this hotel with friends (2 other couples) of who made the reservations for all of us. She'd wanted to have all 3 couples in rooms close to each other so we were placed in "superior" rooms in an older section of the property. Altho it was clean, our room had a very musty smell and the carpets felt... more

These guests were in our older rooms at a lower rate than Superior rooms. We appreciate it when our guests let us know about issues while they are here so we can improve the quality of their experience. Cambria was hit with more than 4" of rain just before these guests visited. Harmless pill bugs sometimes come indoors from the...

We stayed here for 2 nights in August 2009. We had booked the most basic lodge but it was fine, perfectly comfortable and pleasant. The breakfast was good although busy at peak time. The gardens and pool area were lovely. We enjoyed taking the trail through the woods down to the town. We can heartily recommend Linn's Restaurant, really nice... more

We stayed here for my birthday weekend and even though it was several months ago, I still have vivid and fond memories of this place. We had a large room with an attached bedroom. The bathroom was accessible from both rooms. We let my in-laws have the bedroom and my husband and kids slept in the "living room" using a... more

Stayed here in a large upstairs suite with my daughter for three nights (Monday - Wednesday) in early October in one of the newer buildings that back onto the trail at the rear of the property. This was our second stay in a year and we plan to return. The room was immaculate; the beds very comfortable. The staff was... more

While we stayed at the cozy Otterin by the sea we dined at this magnificent lodge. The dinner was nothing short of dazzling. A gourmet meal served in a relaxed setting. Coming from NYC it's tough to get wowed but a good meal. Try Mario Battali's resturant in Vegas for an example of an insultingly expensive with so poor service... more

The Cambria Pines Lodge is a wonderful place to stay. It's surrounding gardens are beautiful, the staff are nice and helpful and the rooms are welcoming, clean and spacious. We brought our family visiting from England to stay here and they loved it. You will not be disappointed by staying here. more

From the moment our daughter asked that she have her college grad party which would include her friends and associates from Northern, Southern and Central California plus family from all over...in Cambria, where we live, we knew that only one place could handle this sort of request. What could have been a logistical nightmare turned out to be a sweet... more

Stopped 2 nights whilst touring west coast of California. This hotel is in a superb location but there is not a great deal to do around it. There is a path which leads into the village which is hard to negotiate in the daytime, there is no way I would have even considered in in the dark! However, the hotel... more

My sister and I stayed here on our annual Sisters Week, while visiting Hearst Castle. It was a true find. The gardens are incredible, with secret pocket gardens and extremely interesting plants and garden features. We had only the standard 2-queen room, but it was spacious, well-appointed and reasonably-priced. Accommodation of all types, from cabin to suites, is scattered throughout... more
