We were the only guests. Treated like royalty. Room was great & breakfast was perfect. The town was charming. October is the scarecrow festival, the town is alive with scarecrows in all shapes and sizes.

Can't say enough nice things about the J. Patrick House! Friendly and helpful hosts, nice room with fireplace and lovely decor, scrumptious breakfasts, and chance to meet your fellow guests with wine and appetizers in the evening! Can walk down to the shops and restaurants if you want and it's only a short drive to coastal walks, elephant seals, and... More

Our special trip to Cambria was topped off with an awesome stay at the J. Patrick House. Cheryl, the Inn Keeper, was fantastic! She was friendly, attentive, and was there to cater to our every need. She paid special attention to our celebratory weekend. The breakfasts were wonderful (filling!) and the happy/social hours were a hoot! Great wine, appetizers, shared... More

Planning the long Labor Day Weekend late and visiting a small town I had not seen for 20 years as well as introducing my girlfriend to her first B&B experience, I was definitely a bit nervous. Yet, from the minute we arrived we were so incredibly well taken care of. Pat shared with us all Cambria and surroundings have to... More

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the J. Patrick House this week for three nights. We extended our stay by a day as we enjoyed it so much. Cheryl the Inn Keeper is fantastic and breakfast each day was a treat. We arrived just in time for a wine & cheese gathering that takes place each... More

The bed and breakfast was very well kept, although there were odd decorating choices and the place was transitioning to new ownership. The new owner let us know that things were in the middle of changing, some of which was done while we were there, which was a little odd. The rooms were nice--the fireplace was a great addition--but the... More

We stayed at the J. Patrick House on the day of ownership change. Nothing distracted from a very pleasant experience. The room was spacious and well decorated. The breakfast was beyond the ordinary "full English/Scottish/American" breakfast. Nice touches included a very nice afternoon wine/cheese/snack service and evening cookies. The owners, previous and present, were very accommodating, helpful, and friendly. Location... More

The Inn was quiet, comfortable, and made for a relaxing stay. The rooms were old but reasonably well maintained. Ours had a fireplace which was nice. The wine tasting at night was interesting and gave us an opportunity to meet the new owner and her assistant. They have ambitious plans to upgrade the facility but we thought that very little... This place just changed ownership. We enjoyed our visit except for a few things. The owner should have kept all the 'behind the scenes' information as to what all she had to do to the place to herself. People come to get away on vacation, not hear about all the problems and fixes they need to do. Also, didn't care... More

We stayed here as a stop over on our drive up the PCH and visit at Hearst Castle. We received the most genuine welcome when we arrived and felt like we were visiting friends. We found that the B&B was purchased earlier in the month. The new owner and her friend have many plans to upgrade the structure and furnishings... More
