i loved this place! i'd seen it before when we went walking along the moonstone beach trails, and said i wanted to stay there next time we drove up the coast... so for the 4th of july weekend we drove from LA up to Monterey and spent one night on moonstone beach, at the Moonstone Landing. It was just wonderful,... more

To celebrate my mother's 50th we flew to San Francisco, hired a car, drove up to the Napa Valley before taking route 1 from the Golden Gate bridge down to LA & San Diego but stopping at various locations en-route, Cambria being one of them. This was actually in 2003 but I was not given any options beyond as far... more

The hotel itself is fairly small but is very nice. The staff was helpful and friendly. We upgraded to a larger room on the ocean facing side of the hotel. If you can afford to do this, it is the way to go! We were actually allowed to look at both the room we booked and the one we could... more

Stayed here for 1 night as part of a US West Coast Tour. The smallest and one of the cheaper hotels we stayed in, but one of the nicest locations and nicest hotels ! Staff were friendly, and the hotel really is in a great location on the beach with sea views in the small town of Cambria. Rooms were... more

My husband and I stayed at Moonstone Landing as part of our driving trip down the coast of California. We chose this place for its location (a ten-minute drive to Hearst Castle) and room amenities (fireplace, jacuzzi tub, balcony overlooking the ocean, afternoon hors d'oeuvres, etc.). We were definitely NOT disappointed. Check-in was smooth, our room overlooked Moonstone Beach, which... more

We have been staying in Cambria, (Moonstone Beach), since 1984. Moonstone landing is by far the best hotel on Moonstone Beach Drive. An ocean front room is a must, and is definitely worth the price. The staff is the friendliest I have ever dealt with on the Central Coast. The previous posters are right on the money suggesting Moonstone Bar... more

I was pretty bummed after the B&B we were originally booked had to cancel our reservation. I went searching for a new place to stay and ended up booking Moonstone Landing based on reviews from various sites, including TripAdvisor :) We received great service from Barbara when we arrived. She was happy to answer any questions we had about the... more

Moonstone landings is in a really nice location and the rooms are fairly nice but it is very expensive for what you get. The view from our balcony was lovely (although a road that was quite busy at times separated us from the beach). There are no extra's (room service, pool etc.) and the breakfast was really inadequate - a... more

Stayed in Cambria for one night as a stop off on the way to Hearst Castle, then onwards to the Big Sur. The town itself is really lovely and the hotel did not disappoint. Friendly staff, huge comfortable rooms with great facilities and an ocean view made a stay here really memorable. We had an excellent evening meal at the... more

The key to this property is snagging one of the ten oceanfront rooms at the front (for which you'll pay a substantial premium). Because there's a street that separates you from the boardwalk and beach, some might be happier with the upper-floor bank of rooms but even at ground level (where we were) the traffic is lighter than in most... more
