Decided to leave the valley for the weekend, The Mariner's Inn was well within our budget and the biggest draw was the walking distance to the beach just feet away. The continental breakfast was a big plus, we definitely plan on going back!

We arrived in Cambria with no reservations and checked with all the hotels for their last minute deals. Tip- in the offseason months, ALL of them have specials for walk-ins. Mariners is the first place on the stretch, low key, with one sea facing room. We took the sea facing room :) - it has a new really comfy bed,... More

From the time we stepped into the room, it was a negative experience. The place was dirty; the floor had been painted and the paint was peeling; the area rug under the bed was old, stained and dirty; the "renovation" consisted of 2 X 12 boards (painted dark brown) attached to the walls over some bamboo cloth. Oh yeah, the... More

8/10. Such a beautiful setting. On the Pacific, with a wooden walkway along the seas edge. Quite, sleepy little town, just heavenly. We arrived in the evening at the end of September, as the town was getting ready for the Scarecrow Festival, which runs thoughout October. Just a cute gimmic to extend the season. Each seafront property had comical scarecrows... More

Stayed at the Mariner's Inn with our dog. Perfect location across the street from the Ocean and boardwalk. Very convenient for walking the dog. Hotel was very basic but met our needs. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good (I always enjoy little touches like scones added to the normal toast etc.). Cambria was hosting... More

The sign outside the hotel stated “new ownership, renovated rooms”, so we expected to see fresh paint, clean floors and a “new” room. Well, what we found was the opposite! An awful area carpet on the floor that had stains and appeared as if it was never cleaned, a painted wood floor that was peeling, a single wicker chair that... More

Helpful responsible staff. Basic but clean and comfortable. Good bed. Quiet across the road from the beach. We would stay again. They are planning an upgrade. The staff likes the owners. Cambria is a nice destination.

My son booked this hotel for us because it was on the beach and dog friendly. We had a room with a partial ocean view and the hotel is located across from the ocean which was wonderful as there is a path above the sea; just beautiful. The sign outside the hotel says new ownership, renovated rooms, but ours certainly... More
