The hotel is well-situated for restaurants and shopping. We had a two-bedroomed suite which was spacious and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was OK. Good access to the elephant seals and Hearst Castle. Cambria is a more interesting place to stay than San Simeon (but don't miss the beach at SS). more

We stayed for two nights at the Burton Inn (suite #24) in April. We paid USD215 per night, a special offer that we thought was reasonable. We had checked out other motels/inns, rather favored the Burton and the reduced price sealed the deal. The suite was upstairs and away from other rooms on the top right side of the building... more

Because the Burton Inn came so highly recommended online, we opted to stay there during our short stay in Cambria. However, we quickly discovered that the rooms have paper thin walls and we were "staying" with a number of various guest. We heard the guests upstairs all evening and the guests next door as well. We found the bed to... more

We decided to stop in Cambria for the night and see if there was a room at the Burton Inn. My wife had wanted to try it out for some time. Well, there was a room available for which we paid $270, a price the innkeeper rationalized was fair for a Saturday holiday stay; it seemed a little pricey for... more

En route from San Diego to San Jose, my wife and I "discovered" the Burton House, with its friendly hosts--including Sophie the Dog--to the elegantly decorated (Asian motif) rooms and delicious breakfast. We will definitely be back. more

These small words summarize best my view on this small place we stayed for only one night: a small jewel sitting undiscovered in the Cambria area. The suite we got was amazing: perfectly clean, beautiful decorated and furnished, large exquisite bathroom. Words to describe the service received: nice, polite, and helpful. Breakfast (that was included in the price) had a... more

We stayed for only one night on our trip down the Big Sur but we wished that we could have stayed a little longer. The property is very smart, the rooms are very spacious and our room (a suite) had a great lounge overlooking the street which was very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was very good with the offer... more

We stayed for a long weekend to explore the central Californian coast and we liked the Burton Inn. The proprietors are very friendly and offer wine and cheese every afternoon. They actually join the guests for a chat which gives the place a really nice and homely atmosphere. While talking to them and the other guests, we not only met... more

As others have reported, a very nicely designed inn just off the main drag of Cambria, where everyplace is pretty much convenient to everything. Our attractive room was very large and amply and eclectically furnished. We stayed two nights and got to talk to a pleasant and diverse variety of other guests. All in all, a pleasant experience, but a... more

I found this hotel and it's price on the internet. Decided on it based on reviews of other hotels. Super accomidating. I booked, in error, the wrong date for arrival but no worries and they even upgraded us rather than punish us. We were given a two bedroom suite rather than a single king, I'm traveling with my senior mother.... more
