What a delightful place! We were greeted by the owners daughter who was so friendly and gracious, we certainly felt welcomed after our long drive. The house is on the less touristy side of Cambria. It is off the beaten path but very easy to find. The room was elegant but not too fancy. There were fresh flowers waiting for... more

Patrica (owner) is a sweetheart. However, at $200+ a night there are cheaper B&Bs in Cambria that aren't right on top of of Highway 1(half of the rooms face and are right on top of HW1 and it is loud). Furthermore, the B&B is pretty far removed from town (you are approx. a 5 min. drive from DT Cambria and... more

We discovered The Pickford House in 2005 and now stay there anytime we travel down the coast from Carmel. The owner/Inn Keeper, Patricia is gracious and welcoming. At many B&B's we have been offered a "continental breakfast" consisting of store bought pastries and tasteless fruit. Not so at The Pickford where we are always served a big, delicious, homecooked breakfast.... more

Thank you Pickford House for adding to the magic of our Holiday travels! While traveling to S. Ca to visit family over the holidays, we had the pleasure of staying at the Pickford House in Cambria, Ca. What a magical place! I was immediately taken back in time the minute I walked through the door. The house is a museum... more

We discovered this beautiful Inn to stay near Hearst Castle on the Central Coast of CA in the heart of Cambria. We found The Pickford House very neat, comfortable, and fitting perfectly to what B&B's are known for. The huge mansion had an old Hollywood feel, 1920-1930 movie star theme. We stayed in the Rudy Valentino room. Very nice antiques,... more

This B&B is located right in the middle of a residential neighborhood and up against a main highway. During our stay, we were forced to sleep with the window open in the middle of December because someone had sprayed our room with a very heavy and horrible room deordorizer. We ran the wall heater all night to offset the cold... more

I stayed at the Pickford House B&B with my boyfriend recently. It is charming, in the typical B&B way, filled with antiques, etc. But dig below the surface and you find there is bad follow-through. There are beautiful armoires stocked with robes, but it only has a few cheap plastic hangers. There is cable TV, but the TV itself is... more

We had an unexpected transfer from the Burton Inn to the Pickford. It seems two day stays are preferred in season / weekends. We were only staying for one day, so it would appear someone wanting to stay for two days came in after our reservation which created the bump over to the Pickford. We couldn't have been happier although... more

I've stayed at several B&Bs over the years, and have found them to be either hit or miss. The Pickford House is definitely a hit! Our room was very clean, comfortable, and tastefully furnished (not a teddy bear in sight!) We were greeted with bath robes and fresh roses, as well as a selection of toiletries. The large, old fashioned... more

This is the ugliest room we have ever seen! It is called the Harold Lloyd room, with brown/black wall paper with flowers, old (not antique) furniture, below average bathroom. Nightmares guaranteed for $165/night! Plus it is by the Highway 1 and it is definitely noisy! The owner failed to mention this "detail" when we asked about the location. We did... more
