Love this quaint little hotel. Cute, clean & reasonably priced with free breakfast & within walking distance to the beach & the downtown. Our room was on the end, it was quiet, we kept our windows open the entire time, the cool breeze is heavenly & you can hear the waves in the distance. The room was huge with a... More

This little gem is not right on the water but it is at the start of the Moonstone Beach Boardwalk so nicely located between the Town of Cambria and the beach. Room was adequate size, nicely appointed and quiet. Underground free parking felt secure. Provided breakfast was not cook to order but had a number of choices. Overall a very... More

On two former trips we had stayed in motels across from the water on Moonstone Beach; both times there was too much noise. The best thing about the El Colibri is the peace and quiet. We had a small room with a comfortable bed and a view of the woods around the motel. The room's wood furnishings were stylish (which... More

We wanted a place to stay overnight after visiting Hearst Castle which is a few miles away. I was surprised with the positive experience we had. The rooms were beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We even had a fireplace! There was a Keurig coffee maker with an ample supply of coffee. The bathroom was large and stocked with nice amenities,... More

My two kids (3 and 5) and I enjoyed staying here very much. The room was spacious, clean, uber comfy bed, with an oversized tub and DirecTV. While I agree with other reviews that the spa facilities weren't what I'd consider a true "spa experience," the kids enjoyed the small hot tub despite the somewhat murky water. The food options... When my husband and I saw this location, we were happy to see how clean the outside looked. Upon checkin, the staff was very helpful and kind. They made us feel welcomed. The room we stayed in was so romantic for our honeymoon. We told them we could only afford a bottle of wine and not the full romantic package,... More

WONDERFUL experience in this small hotel...We were tired of other local spas we had been going to for "eons". Found this relatively new one and it was WONDERFUL! We LOVED having two mature, life experienced women in massage help us! My masseuse name was "Terri" and she was nothing short of SUPERB!!! I paid a little more for a one... More

We drove highway 1 from Pismo Beach to Santa Cruz (very scenic... Drive it going north though, that way you are in the inner lane and not on the cliff side! We took 101 to Pismo going south.). We stopped at several places, including Cambria. Cambria is a gorgeous village with lots of great restaurants. El Colibri is on the... More

This place looks posh from the outside, and its location is inviting (so near the water, when the fog lets you see it). But it's really just a glorified motel. Think of it that way, and it's nicer and more comfortable than most higher-end motels. But it certainly falls short of its image.

The town of Cabria is very quaint and the boardwalk by the ocean is beautiful. The location of this hotel, by the highway, certainly is one of its drawbacks. I have to say this hotel is average for the price paid and the spa is virtually non-existent. There is no view to speak of from the rooms, which is shame... More
