I booked The El Colibri Hotel as a romantic getaway for my girlfriend. The surprise was quickly overshadowed by bad customer service and lack luster accommodations. I tried to run the Jacuzzi-tub and it would short-out and completely shut-down. After back and fourth with the front desk (they don't have a maintenance person) we gave up. The room was not... More

We really liked the lovely room with great facilities we had, the staff was also very helpful and kind. It made us really enjoy our stay. Unfortunately we have the time to try out the spa, hopefully next time.

We had plans to travel to Hearst Castle and stay at the El Coibri Hotel & Spa. The night prior to our arrival a family member became ill, we had to cancel the visit. We did NOT ask for our money back, simply to hold and move it to our future travel date. The hotel was not sympathetic, nor would... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Colibri. It was a clean, comfortable & friendly stay. The location right next to the moonstone walking path was perfect. We had a view of the surrounding greenery so the fact that the hotel was not right on the beach did not bother us... and the price more than made up for it! Lastly... More

The hotel is beautiful and very nicely located. Just wish it had that ocean view! Well, we can't have everything. The bed was very comfortable. Nice fireplace in the room but my favorite part was the bathroom. Big soaking tub and huge shower. Ready to go back.

Booked a room last minute for a romantic getaway. Seemed very pricey with a 4pm check in and an 11am checkout, especially considering the non beach front location, but whatever, the internal accommodations would be worth it, including the free breakfast, right? Immediately find out that not one, but BOTH Sauna rooms are out of service, which was one of... More

If you are looking for a lovely place to stay while visiting the coast and Hearst Castle this boutique hotel is a must stop. We enjoyed all aspects of our stay and the attention to detail and guest comfort was over the top. I would highly recommend this gem.

Cambria has so many really mediocre places to stay, and El Colibri Hotel and Spa was a cut above all the others. Rather isolated location, but very close to the boardwalk to hike and see the ocean vistas along the way. Rooms were quite nice.

I've been to Cambria many times, and although most of the hotels/motels along Moonstone drive have ocean views, this one does not... but it is at the very beginning of the road and is less than 2 minutes to the water. We stayed in the King and had a great experience. Super comfortable bed, nice fireplace and Jacuzzi/bath in our... More
