Cambria has so many really mediocre places to stay, and El Colibri Hotel and Spa was a cut above all the others. Rather isolated location, but very close to the boardwalk to hike and see the ocean vistas along the way. Rooms were quite nice.

I've been to Cambria many times, and although most of the hotels/motels along Moonstone drive have ocean views, this one does not... but it is at the very beginning of the road and is less than 2 minutes to the water. We stayed in the King and had a great experience. Super comfortable bed, nice fireplace and Jacuzzi/bath in our... More

This is a newer property in the Cambria area- most of the motels are older. They do try to be accommodating with some nice perks like a wine bar and entertainment on some weekend nights. Pros: Newer property Close to downtown Cambria Nice beds Wine bar Cons: No ocean view We had a hot tub or washer that was going... More

We booked the largest and most expensive 'suite' in the hotel for our family. Walking in to the room we were greeted by gross stains on the carpets, including one right at the entry (see pics). The room was poorly and sparsely decorated while off-puttingly cavernous. The outside view to the front of the hotel is highway 1 traffic since... More

I had an unpleasant experience with the woman in front, who turned out to be the owner. That was a red flag. Room was okay at best but certainly not for the price. Seemed musty. I have stayed in MANY worse places around the world but for the price...But who is there to complain to? Oh, that's right the horrible... More

Extremely Disappointed in the Customer Service at El Colibri. My wife and I are in Cambria for our BABYMOON. I got here and checked in only 2 hours ago. I signed their check in and we went to our room. Our room is clean and nice but we look at a dusty hill. We came back 2 hours later and... More

Located close to town, El Colibri is a great place to stay while in Cambria. It is a short walk to the beach with terrific views. This modern hotel is tastefully decorated, clean and neat. The rooms are large and comfortable with a fireplace, great furnishings and large bath which also had a large separate shower. Unfortunately, there was only... More

The free continental breakfast and free parking maybe make up for the mishaps. There was trouble checking in, and after paying for the room, an additional $50 was taken a deposit, which seemed a bit off, as the room was $280 a night.. Also, the front desk staff was new, and unable to check me in without a manager. The... More

After a long but amazing drive down the Pacific Coast Highway from Monterey, we stayed at El Colibri. We were tired and road weary so we were happy with the ease of check in, friendly welcome and large, clean, modern room. We only stayed one night so there's not to much to tell but it was a pleasant night. After... More

The prices are a little high, but might be worth it. Very comfortable, spacious rooms, air conditioned (we visited during a very rare heat wave, and checked out of our reserved hotel because it was too warm). Gas fireplaces warm the room on cool nights. Best hotel bathroom ever-- very large separate shower with delightful non-slip natural stone floor. Spacious... More
