we have been going to Cambria for many years and just love it. We have stayed at the San Simeon Pines before, and liked the quiet rooms with fire places. We enjoyed our stay this time, too. However, I do have to say that when we checked in, we were put in an upstairs room (no elevator). When I requested... More

Over the years I have stayed here. At first it was quaint and charming but it has gone downhill from there. Location is nice. Breakfast is included. Fireplace rooms use segments of compressed sawdust logs.

Stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed long walks on the Cambria coast, Hurst Castle and the Elephant Seal rookery a few miles away very much. Hotel is a throwback to the 70's including setting and rooms, but quite comfortable. The only concession to modern times was the flat screen TV and DVD player in the room. Breakfast was the... More

I would just like to take a moment to thank the Owner of san simeon pines lodge for his kindness. Two days ago i asked him for a simple jumpstart as my battery had died. Not only did he chastise me for not buying american and driving an import vehicle, but he also walked then drove away from me when... More

Although we love the location the hotel has gone down hill some in both service and quality. My husband and I decided to stay here over Thanksgiving, we usually stay here when we are wine tasting, never arriving prior to check-in before. Since we were traveling on Thanksgiving Day we arrived at the hotel around noon. We were immediately told... More

So sorry your visit with us was not up to your expectations this time around. Just to address some of your concerns: We have relayed your experience to the front desk staff to reaffirm with them how important great customer service is; We haven't taken anything away from our complimentary Continental breakfast; Our policy is to not release our rooms... First time at this motel. Had a great 2 day stay. Even played shuffleboard! We had no complaints except for the bathroom mirror. Having to shave sideways was a bit out of sorts but what the heck. Wouldn't mind staying here again.

We recently spent two nights at San Simeon Pines Resort, and in my opinion, it is still one of the best bargains to be found on Moonstone Beach Drive. No, it isn't the newest or have the most modern decor, but it does deliver solid value in their comfortable rooms that have a rustic feel that is enhanced by the... More

We have stayed at SS Pines several times and just returned from a four day stay. Since my wife has to use a walker now we were happy to be able to get the room with a handicap accessible shower, making the trip much more enjoyable. The last time we stayed there the staff was happy to change our room... More

I concur with the other recent reviews. In style, It is a throwback to earlier days. The Resort is surrounded by pine trees, and it is close to the ocean. Across the street is a bluff from which you can enjoy the coastline and activities of numerous birds and pelicans that call it home. It is very close to Cambria,... More

Clean, but hotel dates back to 50-60's, nevertheless has been well maintained. Good location with lots of space. Staff friendly, we cancelled our last night because of altered travel plans, while we were there and got a refund with no problem. Rooms good size, if one criticism breakfast nothing to write home about, in particular I don't know what the... More

You are correct - think of us as a vintage motor coach lodge - you park in front of your clean room and can wander the well-kept, expansive grounds. Our complimentary breakfast is Continental - never promised as hot or "American" style - sorry you did not like the Country Crock spread! Glad you enjoyed your stay and took the... More
