As others have said, the rooms do need updating...especially the bathrooms (vintage 60's) & the lazy boy type chairs in front of the other fireplace.....yuck. Other than that (and the fact that there was no "real" closet...just a rod), we were happy. We had a room with a fireplace and even a view of the ocean...very nice! Fireplace worked beautifully.... The place is kind of cute, but kind of worn out. It has fireplaces that we couldn't really get going the first night so it was cold (didn't trust the heater). Asked for extra blankets the next night and they were old and rough. The location is a little too removed from the beach for me, pines (although nice) are... More

Sorry our location was not what you were looking for....there are many motels down the road that have ocean views - we hope that you will keep coming back to Cambria until you find that perfect one! PS - I can assure you that our heaters work! More

Looked like bathroom had not been cleaned for months. Lots of black mold, and very dirty floors. Continental "breakfast" consisted of empty carbs similar to food that is given out at food banks. Little Sur Inn much better value!!

We appreciate you taking the time to write your review and we have discussed this with the managers and housekeeping. Regarding the continental breakfast, they traditionally consist of coffee, tea, juice and a pastry of some sort, so we are sorry that with the addition of hard boiled eggs, hot and cold cereals, fruit and toast, it was not up... We booked the room thru our am ex site and had read the reviews... as most hotels along this stretch of beach were booked given the season, we said sure.. one night and the price was 124. King bed... We knew it was old.. BUT.. we checked in (no computers and all paper old style keys) cute.. no issues there...... More

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We have since discussed this with the managers on duty at the time of your stay. While they agree with the situation of you bringing a bug into the office (and you are correct, NOT a bed bug!), they did also add that they WERE very surprised that you found... More

I came up to Cambria for a wedding and the group rented out this resort. I stayed in the rose courtyard area. The rooms all had an additional entry into the courtyard, which was nice since we reserved that whole area. Rooms on the other side of the property were much larger and came with a back patio and fireplace.... More

The San Simeon Pines resort was so adorable, it even had good ole fashioned keys! Who has keys anymore in a hotel??? This place does! The rooms were clean and so cute! With great wood ceilings, a large comfy bed, and a great view of the center lounging area with greenery and a country feel, this hotel was worth more... More

We enjoyed a three night stay here. Initially disappointed that we hadn't got the rose garden room that we had booked, (apparently the owners won't e mail nor ring abroad to warn of any changes to booking), but on balance we think our room (on the ground floor of a two storey block) was actually better. Very nice room with... More

We are so glad you were pleased with your room and location...we made that decision to move you last minute due to a group coming in to that area - felt you would be more comfortable in a quieter section. We regret that our complimentary continental breakfast did not meet your expectations - typically, a continental breakfast does not offer... More

We discovered San Simeon Pines Resort years ago and love it so much we keep coming back. We never stay anywhere else while in Cambria. I like that the resort is situated away from all the hubbub on spacious grounds. We stay in the king fireplace cottages and enjoy a nightly fire in the room's fireplace. This time around we... More

Not fancy but charming. Clean and welcoming, friendly staff and quiet at night. As a matter of fact you can hear the waves crashing on the beach even though you are not on the beach side of the road. Perfect, quiet little hotel on Moonstone Beach in Cambria. The rooms are comfortable and cozy, their rates are much better than most of the other properties on Moonstone Beach, and their staff are absolutely the best. This is one of our favorite places to stay when we vacation in Cambria, and we would recommend it to anyone. If you are... More
