Out of town visitors for our son's wedding stayed at the San Simeon Pines Resort in Cambria, CA during the past weekend. We heard nothing but raves and compliments about the hotel and staff from the 7 or 8 couples/families that stayed there. It is an older hotel, but lovingly maintained by the staff and grounds keepers. Although it doesn't... more

We spent 3 nights at this Resort and just had a great time. The decor may be a little dated, but the place is extremely clean, the care takers are wonderful and the location unbeatable. Only issue was that the walls seemed a little thin, and I could hear the drunk old ladies from next door giggling till about midnight.... more

We had stayed here several years ago and found it quite satisfactory. After reading several reviews I hesitated in going back. Hard beds..Noise..Surly staff..dirty..smelly etc. None of these apply. An older but very well maintained property with a helpful staff. Priced very attractively especially for AAA/AARP more

My husband, two teenagers & myself stayed here for one night. I booked the reservation on their website & got a super deal of $88.00 for the night. The location is fantastic! It is just a short walk across the street to the beach. They also have a small (nine hole?) golf course that my son and husband took advantage... more

Although the rooms are clean, the smell is terrible. Even the scented candle I burned couldn't mask the really old musty dank smell. The front desk staff made us feel like we were there to accommodate them, not the other way around. We felt like we were putting them out by staying there. There was hardly anyone staying there, but... more

I made reservation to stay here because I had read good reviews on this site. However as soon as I got there, I realized I made a mistake. The location is nice. Moonstone coast is only 100 yards away and the lodge is located in a small pine forest. However this place smells and feels like grandpa's lodge. Property is... more

Stayed there 1 night on our way to LA. Very nice, big and clean rooms. Breakfast was included and also ok. Property is located nicely near the beach, close to Hearst Castle and a beach where you can see sea lions. more

October 15, 2008 San Simeon Pines I frankly can not understand how anyone could find this place quiet, I have stayed at almost all of the motels on Moonstone Beach over the years and I can say with certainty that this is definitely not one of them. The continental breakfast was pathetic no bagels or croissants and the milk was... more

It's the outermost hotel on the Moonstone Beach Drive. The location is gorgeous with the pines and the ocean. The room was very large, very quiet and quite comfortable. There's no wifi. Breakfast a bit spartan. All the Moonstone Beach Drive dining options within walking distance. Don't miss the charming old village of Cambria proper for sightseeing across the Highway... more

We arrived at the resort and asked to see our room to check it out first. It was such a dark room and the bed was super hard. We asked to see other rooms to stay and they did not like that request at all. We did see a few others and they were also dark, old and the beds... more
