stayed one night as a stopover on the way from SF to LA as a base to see Hearst Castle (which is worth it if only to see how v.rich people can have v.bad taste!) - Clean - Friendly helpful staff - good size rooms - nice fires - location is a beach, bleak stretch with lots of hotel/motels -... More

Hubby and I stayed at the Fogcatcher in April/May 2004 and I wrote a terrific review. Just got back from a 3-night stay. It's really gone downhill a lot in a little over a year. I notice that April 2005 reviewers quoted prices ranging from $85-$109. We paid $279 for a premium room, full ocean view. As always, Cambria is... More

Just got back from a 6 night stay at the Fogcatcher Inn. Upon arrival we noticed the beautiful gardens that surrounded our suite. (room 405) It was very charming with two large bedrooms and a loft housing two queen beds. There is no need for airconditioning (a concern). The cool breeze from the ocean made the suite very comfortable. It... More

On a whirl wind trip from San Fran,Napa , Sacramento and LA my husband and I broke up our trip down the Route 1 coast (spectacular!!!) by stopping in Cambria overnight and visiting Hearst Castle. We stayed in this beautiful little Inn with high poster beds, very comfortable pillow top mattresses, overstuffed pillows and Waverly bedding. The best part was... More

We stayed here for just one night on our 12 day vacation from San Fran to San Diego. We stayed here so we can go to Hearst Castle and we read great things about the town. Our room was big and cozy wth a fireplace and a view of the ocean. We walked on the boardwalk by the ocean and... More

Loved this place. Quiet, lovely view, Mike at the front desk was very courteous, nice bottle of wine in the room. Breakfast room was roomy and uncrowded. Wife made herself a waffle without whining about it and seemed to enjoy it. Highly recommend this place and we'll be back!

The hotel is on a strip with many others. We had a good rate - about $85. The room was large and clean. No view, but the boardwalk and access to the beach is right across the street. Both boardwalk and beach are very nice. There were seals on the rocks, including a pup born the night before. Lots of... More

My husband and I definitely recommend this precious inn right across the street from Moonstone Beach. We stayed there recently when we visited Hearst Castle - it's only about 10 minutes away. The Fog Catcher had the feel of a cozy little English country inn. We had a great room especially for the price we paid - $109, I think.... More
