My husband spent two nights at the Blue Dolphin. Pros: Great location, fabulous view, clean, roomy, very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was huge and delicious. Cons: Average beds and linens. Overall, we had a great visit and we will return.

Blue Dolphin Inn is situated in a long row of hotels by the beach in Cambria. It does not look any nicer or less nice than any others in terms of structural look. However, it felt pretty expensive at $160 per night + tax. The reviews were great and the pictures appealing. I booked a King room from Booking.com and... More

Our hotel is located right on Moonstone Beach Drive, across from the ocean and our rates are comparable for hotels in our area. Rooms along the beach can be upwards of $300 a night. We do also have a budget-friendly option at Castle Inn for value conscious travelers. More

We stayed at this hotel when travelling via the coastal highway from LA to SF. The room we got was with partial driveway view :), but it was fine with us, as we arrived late and just wanted to get a good rest and continue our trip on the next day. The room was actually divided into 2 areas -... More

Thank you for your review of Blue Dolphin Inn. We are pleased you had great recommendations from our staff and that your experience was good. We have tried many ways to improve it but mobile reception is one of those things we struggle with due to our remote location. Unfortunately, it is also out of our control since our cell... More

The Blue Dolphin Inn was remodeled a few years ago and it is really lovely. We stayed in a room that had a partial ocean view,it was nicely decorated and had a fireplace. The fireplace is the only source of heat, but it was sufficient. The bathroom was beautifully appointed and a nice size. Our room was in the middle of... More

What a delightful review! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We made sure our hotel has all the little things that make a big difference. When we remodeled we wanted to capture the essence of the beach in a sophisticated array of colors to bring the outside feeling into the hotel. We look forward... More

This dog-friendly hotel was the perfect location was a perfect stopping point between Carmel and Santa Barbara on a leisurely trip down the California coast. As it is just across the road from the long boardwalk, we had some wonderful walks. The staff recommended dog-friendly restaurants, and your breakfast choices are delivered to the rooms, a boon for traveling with... More

Thank you for your review. You must have visited during one of our very few days when it is actually hot enough that you might need AC! Normally our temps hover in the 60-70 range year-round but on those rare hot days it does feel like it would be a good thing. We are pleased you found our in-room amenities... More

We stopped here for a night after driving the Big Sur - what a wonderful place to arrive to after a long drive. Our room was spotless and comfortable with a view of the ocean. This is a peaceful place with great character and we highly recommend it!!

I stayed at the Blue Dolphin Inn as a kid and remember it so fondly. So much so that I decided to come back for a little getaway as an adult to visit Hearst Castle. Still so cute. The staff was incredibly friendly and the location couldn't be beat. It's right across the street from the ocean. Would definitely recommend... More

My wife and I have stayed here 5 or 6 times and each time has been fantastic. The attention to detail is unbelievable beginning with your greeting by name and a personal escort to your room. We usually stay in the "Estero" room but most recently stayed in the "Aegean Sea" room. Both are very nice with a huge patio... More

The hotel is on a quiet strip along an ocean front road, between you and the water. You can walk on a boardwalk above the beach the whole length of the road and take stairs down to the beach in a few spots. We were there at high Christmas/New Years week and it was quiet. This hotel is clean, the... More

Cambria is a very friendly, beautiful and tranquil place to get away. The Blue Dolphin appears to be the best of the best of places to stay. Complimentary breakfast delivered to your room, smiling faces, very clean and pretty rooms, water, coffee and tea in the lobby, and a peaceful vibe throughout. All this would be enough, but the view... More
