My sister and I are regulars. We live in SF and escape here to Debbie's house to decompress. It's so quiet and peaceful here. The views are like a backdrop to a movie. It's quiet quiet quiet. Her dogs are friendly and her home has history . It's so cool that her great great great grandfather lived here and the... More

Stayed one night (3/31) on the way up to Little River. We were pleased with Debbie and her family. Very friendly and accommodating. Loved the dogs, rather, Ziggy, and Mr. D. The room was very nice and clean. The view from the common room was great. Breakfast was beautifully presented and very delicious. We would stay there again.

I agree with others that the price is low for the Napa Valley area; just make sure to keep your expectations low as well. We took the chance on this property because we only needed a room to sleep and wanted a low price - not to relax and hang out. That said, if you do stay here, be aware... More

Had the master with king which was great but it smelled old and musty! Balcony off bedroom was only saving grace Quiet and restful. No one to greet us when we arrived. The intercom didn't work nor did WiFi. Had to call her cell number which was long distance for me and she never answered. Breakfast isn't served till 9:30am... More

Anyone that leaves a bad review has to be a very snooty person that doesn't even know a great place because they cant get past there own selfish perfect world. This place is a great bed and breakfast to go for! The view is unbelievable showing part of the valley esp. from the pool. We stayed at the upper house... More

Not to sound classist here, but reading some of the other reviews here brings to mind a rich, but cheap couple. There are a number of hotels available in the area--all expensive. Hillcrest is, I believe, the least expensive option in the area. Expectations should be set by the price relative to other accommodations in the area. That being said,... More

I let some months pass to describe THAT experience from a more objective point of view...first we almost couldn't find the place and were greeted by fierce looking dogs...then the owner (?) gave us a room key and dissappeared into his filthy kitchen leaving us in a dusty overdecorated common room....our room was old, smelly and run down and we... How anyone in their right mind could rate this even one star is a mystery. Our room was filled with dust and mold on the ceiling. I looked in the kitchen after breakfast and I am sure the health department would want to close it down. Filthy. The room we had could only be called "creepy". The business license was... More

The owner has let the property deteriotate a great deal. She is basically not existant. We saw her twice in two days, when she put out coffee and stale danishes. The place is totally cluttered with stuff. The pool is in disrepair along with the property. I should have read the reviews before booking! The most HORRIFIC place ever...and SPIDERS/DOGS... More

We traveled from Dallas, Texas to St. Helena California to visit family. Hillcrest Bed and Breakfast was a refreshing, relaxing surprise. A lovely home nestled on the top of a mountain, our airy room offered a breathtaking view of vineyards and valleys. It was a step back into a more peaceful and tranquil space in time. My son and I...
