A friend and I escaped Y2K in late 1999, and spent two nights here on our grand tour of northern CA. We had spent the day wine tasting through Napa, then had dinner in Calistoga, and finally got to the B&B after dark, so we just made our way to our room and crashed. We found the decor not quite... Worst accommodations I have ever encountered. Stayed in the house and the entire house smelled of flea and tick spray. Lock on the sliding glass door was broken, but did not matter as I had to leave the door open all night anyway. Would have slept in the car, but it was 35F outside. The electric faux fireplace was no... More

If you have realistic expectations this B&B is a gem. Debbie gave a good rate, a lovely king bed cottage with a lovely private balcony. After a lovely meal in Calistoga, a bottle of wine on our deck late into night we had a very peaceful sleep. breakfast is a communal affair - very homely and delicious. We loved it... More

I enjoyed my stay at this B & B. I found it by chance, on the web, after a long search for an affordable place to stay overnight. This was about the only one with a room mid-week for less than $100 a night. I wish it was listed at more sites, because I think more people should know about... More

We stayed in this place for 1 night and have really mixed fillings therefore our comments could be somewhat confusing; nevertheless I decided to share it. This is most definitely not the cleanest B&B; it is dusty and too cluttered, bathroom cleanliness was, softly speaking, not up to my standards; therefore I even did not take a shower (!) Breakfast... So, back again for the tenth time. My sister and Dog love this place!!!! It's our perfect escape from the city (SF) quiet and relaxing views. We always see new people and new dogs every time . Debo and Arthur are Debbie the owners dogs, very friendly and cute. We have the same routine. Rest then drive down to the... More

We were very scared to stay here. I felt like if I was on a horror movie and we were going to be gone one by one! Didn't stay, we lost our deposit money but didn't care. More

If you have to have sterile, plastic foo-foo snobby surroundings, this is not the place for you. If you want to feel like you are staying at someone's home, and bring your dog, and have the best views of anyplace in the area from the the side of Mt St Helena, and get to know some of the area's history... My husband and I stayed here, hoping we had found a diamond in the rough. Boy, were we wrong. At first glance, it didn't seem so bad. It was in a great location, fantastic views and despite there being a lot of stuff, it seemed eclectic. We checked into our room and were pleased to find a jacuzzi tub and... More

My husband and I took a trip to Calistoga for our anniversary to enjoy wine country. We wanted to bring our dog and stay somewhere affordable, so we picked Hillcrest B&B. Hillcrest was promising at first because Debbie (the proprietor) said she'd watch our dog when we were gone for most of the day Saturday. She did watch our dog... More
