Wow, just stumbled across this, looking for an authentic Calistoga experience since Nances and Triple S are long gone. I knew Debbie years ago, they are like 5th generation Calistoga pioneer family. Yay for them, holding onto their ancestral home and graciously sharing a little history and gorgeous views from before the valley got all Snooty! When I go, I... More

It's in a beautiful, quiet spot but we can't understand why it hasn't yet been shut down for the poor standards of hygiene. Debbie is pleasant and helpful but the housekeeping here leaves a lot to be desired. We had a room that supposedly shared a kitchen - except the 'kitchen' was a refrigerator in a room stuffed with dusty... More

My husband, dog and I had a wonderful weekend stay here. We stayed in the Shanga La room. it was one of the rooms out from the house and has it's own private patio/deck. The room decor reminded me of being in Tahiti in the 1973. The floors did have a slight slant. The room was VERY clean; had plenty... More

My sister and I are regulars. We live in SF and escape here to Debbie's house to decompress. It's so quiet and peaceful here. The views are like a backdrop to a movie. It's quiet quiet quiet. Her dogs are friendly and her home has history . It's so cool that her great great great grandfather lived here and the... More

Stayed one night (3/31) on the way up to Little River. We were pleased with Debbie and her family. Very friendly and accommodating. Loved the dogs, rather, Ziggy, and Mr. D. The room was very nice and clean. The view from the common room was great. Breakfast was beautifully presented and very delicious. We would stay there again.

I agree with others that the price is low for the Napa Valley area; just make sure to keep your expectations low as well. We took the chance on this property because we only needed a room to sleep and wanted a low price - not to relax and hang out. That said, if you do stay here, be aware... More

Had the master with king which was great but it smelled old and musty! Balcony off bedroom was only saving grace Quiet and restful. No one to greet us when we arrived. The intercom didn't work nor did WiFi. Had to call her cell number which was long distance for me and she never answered. Breakfast isn't served till 9:30am... More

Anyone that leaves a bad review has to be a very snooty person that doesn't even know a great place because they cant get past there own selfish perfect world. This place is a great bed and breakfast to go for! The view is unbelievable showing part of the valley esp. from the pool. We stayed at the upper house... More

Not to sound classist here, but reading some of the other reviews here brings to mind a rich, but cheap couple. There are a number of hotels available in the area--all expensive. Hillcrest is, I believe, the least expensive option in the area. Expectations should be set by the price relative to other accommodations in the area. That being said,... More

I let some months pass to describe THAT experience from a more objective point of view...first we almost couldn't find the place and were greeted by fierce looking dogs...then the owner (?) gave us a room key and dissappeared into his filthy kitchen leaving us in a dusty overdecorated common room....our room was old, smelly and run down and we...
