This is our fourth draft of this review. We usually just write out a review but our first 3 reviews of Meadowlark sounded like a paid PR piece. Several words kept coming up in our description of Kurt and Richard: intelligent, sophisticated, unique, courteous, gracious, Even these adjectives fail to convey their specialness since they made us feel completely welcome... My husband, dog and I literally just walked in our door from our week long vacation at Meadowlark Inn in Calistoga, CA. We can’t say enough great things about the Meadowlark and our wonderful hosts, Kurt and Richard. Every morning we wake up to an amazing gourmet breakfast complete with fresh squeezed apple cider, piping hot coffee, delicious granola and... More

Charming, magical, peaceful, serene, are only a few of the wonderful adjectives to describe Meadowlark. The minute you step on to the property you begin to relax as Kurt and Richard have created an enchanted getaway destination like no other, the rooms are a blend of luxurious and comfortable, the pool complex is quite simply paradise, you will find yourself... The Meadowlark Country house is unlike any other Bed & Breakfast I've stayed, which is why I prefer to stay at Bed & Breakfasts, each are unique and the innkeepers contribute immensely to the experience. During our three night stay in November 2014, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of Richard & Kurt, two fine gentlemen who own... More

Another magical stay in this slice of heaven that Kurt and Richard have created in the idyllic northern Napa Valley. As usual the stay was sublime and my wife and I are already looking forward to our next stay. The grounds are peaceful and lovely set on a hillside above a bubbling creek, the pool complex with sauna, Jacuzzi, and... More

My wife and I recently spent an overnight in the Napa Valley. We decided upon the Meadowlark Country House for accommodations. Since it was November both the town of Calistoga and the Napa Valley were quiet. After a day of wine tasting, Meadowlark was a wonderful respite. The sauna and whirlpool felt relaxing after the long day. Our room with... More

This is an outstanding modern B&B. Kurt and Richard are very kind and engaging. I disagree completely with the comment about it being 1998. The bed was comfortable, there is cable, and it's kept well. Breakfast is tasty and you are made well aware in advance of the schedule. Furthermore, an area was provided to hang clothes and I connected... More

What a fantastic layout. 20 acres with country gardens, horses, a beautiful well kept house and two wonderful proprietors. The location is ideal for getting around while being very quiet and peaceful. The rooms are very large and clean. The pool area is absolutely what we wish we had at home. Kurt and Richard are spot on and wonderful to... More

Spent a wonderful 4 days renewing friendships with college roommates from 45 years ago. Wonderful weather, views, breakfasts prepared by the lovely cook--omelets from the property's fresh chicken eggs with shitake mushrooms garnished with fresh oregano flowers from the garden, eggs Benedict with a twist, delicious granola. Kurt and Richard are most welcoming and caring hosts. Slept like a baby... More

We spent 3 nights at this lovely B&B. We stayed in suite 1, which has a living room and separate bedroom (although no door). I believe suite 2 has a similar setup. The pull-out bed that costs an extra $95/person/night was really uncomfortable but Richard and Kurt put another mattress on it that helped. Just be aware that I wouldn't... More
