This was my second visit to the Roman Spa Hot Springs Resort. The rooms are simply decorated and very clean. What makes the stay so special are the two outdoor hot-spring-fed pools, one at 94 degrees F and the other, smaller jacuzzi pool at around 102 degrees F. There is also an indoor pool which is at a temperature somewhere... More

We stayed at the Mount View Hotel and Spa next door but opted to try the Roman Spa. I've never had a mud bath before so I booked the combo treatment for my wife and I that included a mineral bath and 50 minute massage. The place is not as fancy as some spa's but that didn't lessen the quality.... More

For a Valentine's weekend, I think the price was worth it for the room. The pools were great, along with the hot tub and whirlpool. Apparently, we were in the new rooms and they were nice. The robe was nice and soft and the bed was comfy. For my next visit to Calistoga, I'll likely stay here again but try... More

We enjoyed the pools a great deal. The location is great. You are s short walk to downtown Calistoga which has many shops, restaurants, and of course places to taste wine. You are within minutes of the petrified forest, Old Faithful Geyser, and several wineries. The landscape is beautiful! We enjoyed our stay here.

We had a wonderful 2 day getaway at the Roman Spa. We spent hours in the hot springs pool and tubs. I really enjoyed the mud bath and massage package. The king size bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We parked the car and spent most of the time enjoying Calistoga. And there were some great wineries within... More

Thank you for your kind comments. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay, soaking and spa-ing. As you mentioned you parked the car and didn't have to use it again until your day of departure, the Calistoga motto is so true: park-stay-play, simple as that! We look forward to serving you again in the future. More

The Roman Spa Hot Springs Resort offered much more than we were able to take advantage of this past Valentine's Day weekend, but the basics that we needed -- late arrival provisions, plenty of parking, very comfortable beds, lots of towels, and a full-size coffee-maker -- were fully provided. The staff that we came in contact with after hours was... More

Abiku, Thank you for taking the time to express your comments about your visit. I'm glad that you found numerous features about our facility to your liking. I'm sorry you were unable to completely utilize and enjoy our property. Your inability to relax and soak in our natural geothermal pools, is why most visitors stay with us, allowing for the... More

We'be been staying at the Roman Spa for nearly 20 yrs,and it never fails to satisfy! The kitchen rooms are great if your staying for more than one night, and the regular rooms if it's just an over night stay! The grounds are beautifully kept, which tells me they really care! Now,on to the pools...they are amazingly relaxing, especially the outdoor one!!! The... More

We arrived at the hotel and were instantly greeted by a very pleasant clerk. She was very warm and made our check in easy. She even gave us a tip should we want to come back. Our room was nice and clean. Our room window faced a small street so we got to hear the garbage truck in the morning.... More

Linda, Thank you for your kind, positive comments. I'm so glad your stay was satisfying and enjoyable both at the hotel and spa. Being our county "neighbor," I hope you will be able to experience several of the wonderful seasons we have here in Calistoga. Each year in January, after the seasonal excitement of Christmas and New Year, we go to Roman Spa for the pools, nice rooms, pleasant staff, and general atmosphere. Calistoga is a fun town with nice restaurants. We visit the Russian heritage monastery, the Ace Hardware, the bookstores and other shops. Driving from Berkeley and the return trip offers many nice... Thank you for your comments. Indeed, January is the "off season," when things quiet down from the seasonal excitement, however, it is one of the great months to visit. January has been unseasonably warm with days into the 70's, the wild mustard in the vineyards is in bloom, the water feels great and the steam rising off the pools in... More

We had a wonderful time at the Roman Spa and hotel. The mud and mineral bath were wonderful! To top it off we had a couples massage. The pool is filled with fresh natural springs water heated to just under 100 degrees. It felt so wonderful to the soul and the body. I would recommend to all that want to... More
