We arrived at the hotel and were instantly greeted by a very pleasant clerk. She was very warm and made our check in easy. She even gave us a tip should we want to come back. Our room was nice and clean. Our room window faced a small street so we got to hear the garbage truck in the morning.... More

Each year in January, after the seasonal excitement of Christmas and New Year, we go to Roman Spa for the pools, nice rooms, pleasant staff, and general atmosphere. Calistoga is a fun town with nice restaurants. We visit the Russian heritage monastery, the Ace Hardware, the bookstores and other shops. Driving from Berkeley and the return trip offers many nice... Thank you for your comments. Indeed, January is the "off season," when things quiet down from the seasonal excitement, however, it is one of the great months to visit. January has been unseasonably warm with days into the 70's, the wild mustard in the vineyards is in bloom, the water feels great and the steam rising off the pools in... More

We had a wonderful time at the Roman Spa and hotel. The mud and mineral bath were wonderful! To top it off we had a couples massage. The pool is filled with fresh natural springs water heated to just under 100 degrees. It felt so wonderful to the soul and the body. I would recommend to all that want to... More

Kelly, Thank you for your kind comments, I'm so glad you enjoyed your experience at the spa. Indeed, the mud/mineral baths are wonderful. Calistoga is such a unique town, graced with healing geothermal water that as you stated "felt so wonderful to the soul and body." It's just impossible to experience this anywhere else. We look forward to serving you... More

Both my husband and I gravitate to the Roman Spa for its mineral pools and relaxed atmosphere year after year. In fact we try to stay three to four times each year. We love the central location in Calistoga so that once we park we don't have to get in the car again, since the town also offers a fair... More

Thank you for your kind words and loyalty. Indeed, Calistoga is such a great little town and with our location so central to shops and restaurants in town. As the motto goes, Calistoga is car free- once you arrive there is no need to drive anywhere until it is time to depart. But, as an added bonus, Calistoga does have... More

Love the pools. It has been our choice spot for 24 years now. The pools and comfortable beds and bedding never disappoint. We always leave feeling rejuvenated. We have learned that it is so hard to leave that we always book for a 3-4 night stay:)

Very clean, stellar resort! We enjoyed all three of the pools and the saunas. The other folks staying there were nice and really great to meet. Many of them had been repeat customers because it is really a great place to stay! Our room had a complete kitchen because my husband likes to cook but the maids did the dishes... More

Thank you for your kind comments. I'm so glad to hear that you were able to truly enjoy the beauty of our Valley with a 6 mile hike! Indeed, our Mediterranean climate and topography is very similar to Tuscany, cool in the mornings and evenings and then warming during the day, ideal for grape growing! We look forward to serving... I chose this hotel for the mud and mineral baths and I wasn't disappointed! The hotel staff was very helpful and the hotel was immaculate. They were even cleaning up the public places bright and early the following morning! The pools were kept at a 94, 100 & 104 - great bonus considering it was December! The mineral water in... More

We were looking forward to a relaxing three days of wine tasting in the Napa Valley. We chose this hotel because we had stayed there before and enjoyed the mineral pools. Our room was on the first floor. First night we had miss jazzercise over head vibrating the walls and then mr. weights dropping items and then a family jumping.... More

Thank you for your comments. I am so sorry that your experience wasn't as you expected, especially since it sounds like a previous visit was without incident. Although we can never predict how quiet each guest will be on a given night, we are typically a quiet facility, especially after 10 pm. In addition, we have a caretaker on property... More

Thank you for your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. I'm sorry to hear that the Wi-Fi was not performing to your satisfaction. We have several towers throughout the property for signal and find that there are times it doesn't seem to produce as well as we would like. Great place for families ( we have 11 y,o) Engineering/Maint. tech helped us tremendously with rare instance of door issue-otherwise problem free stay-front desk-high quality/Ritz Carlton trained experienced (not some high school kid receptionist you see at holiday inns etc./ very welcoming and going out of the way to make stay great. No judgments here--kids are welcomed-two pools at 96... More
