Don't be alarmed when you first pull up, like I was. We booked here for an extended weekend with family, and upon arrival, from the outside where you park, it looks a bit like a motel. They really should landscape around the parking lot side better. That was the first and only bad experience we had here. The rooms were... More

My wife and I booked a mud bath and a massage here during our visit to Napa Valley. We were pleasantly surprised at the friendliness and professionalism with which we were treated. The mud bath was awesome, as was the mineral bath. The only negative was that the men and women have separate spa rooms, so I couldn't be with... More

Hello elchaco, thank you for the review of our spa and the pools. You caught the vibe of Calistoga with the last line of the review, " Being in the natural spring fed pools surrounded by beautiful scenery is what Calistoga is all about". Cheers, Mike Lennon - GM More

My wife and I came back again this year after positive experience last summer. The facility is top notch in all aspects. Family friendly yet nice for couples. Great pools to relax in and the room was upgraded and spotless. The Napa valley is spendy so the price is what it is. All things concise red worth the money. Calistoga... More

I've been twice: once just for the mineral pools for the day, and recently for an overnight stay. The four pools are pleasant: one large one at 80 degrees, two smaller at around 100 degrees, and a small wading/kiddie pool at 90. The massages my friends and I got were fine but nothing to write home about, and the spa... More

Our neighbors above us were incredibly noisy with every footstep, move of furniture, and drop of objects, coming through loud and clear into our room. Annoying to say the least!! Also, they request that visitors wash their own dishes without awareness of contamination issues with the public and charging $267 for the room in addition!!

We've been coming to Calistoga for several years and have stayed at the Indian Springs, because we'd heard about it from friends. It finally got too expensive for us, so we sought out other alternatives. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Calistoga Spa and Hot Springs. It's different from Indian Springs: friendlier, less of a conspicuous "luxury" feel, a... More

A great place to stay for a family holiday. The pool area is outstanding, with 4 mineral pools, each one catering for a specific use.. The rooms are ok, kitchenettes are well stocked, clean, and practical. There is a downside for ground floor rooms - you get a lot of floor noise from the rooms above. The Spa treatment was... More

We were looking for a getaway with mineral springs to soak in, nice places to recline and a mini fridge to store our wine and snacks. We were extremely happy with the Calistoga Spa Hot Springs, and I personally was impressed with the versatility for couples and families. Although we were looking for a place that would suit us traveling... More

We spent two nights at the Calistoga Spa Hot Springs. The rooms were a little dated, but everything was neat and clean. No free breakfast, but we had a small kitchenette so we made our own breakfast. The mud bath and massage (the works they call it) was very good, but they have separate areas for men and women. So... More

Hello BeachHunterR, thank you for your honest and to the point review. We have a few rooms left to fully renovate and those will be completed in Q1 of 2015. Your comment on our Russian guests is amusing. We hope you get to visit again and stay in one of the fully renovated rooms. Mike Lennon - GM More

We just returned from a 2 night stay in the family unit and it was just perfect! I am used to luxury but expected this place to be not very nice (since its so cheap!). I was very surprised how nice the family unit was! Everything was very clean and up to date. The kitchen was so useful and the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Calistoga Spa Hot Springs, a geothermal hot springs resort, recently completed an extensive renovation project that has dramatically transformed a property that has been attracting repeat guests for generations. Located in downtown Calistoga, the 56-room hotel and spa was completely redesigned with a contemporary spa inspired look and feel. The eighteen month long renovation has touched all aspects of the property including a redesign of the guestrooms with spa-inspired bedding, honed Italian porcelain tile showers, kitchenettes with microwave ovens and modern conveniences such as full High Definition LED televisions. The focal points of the renovation are the four-geothermal heated mineral pools. The pool deck was fitted with travertine tiles, new designer-inspired pool furniture and the inclusion of grape covered arbors. ... more   less
